I'm shocked so many thought there was a legit chance Kurt and WWE would come to a deal. It's been common knowledge for over a year that he couldn't pass wellness and that Vince and Hunter did not want him wrestling for them. Hell I think Kurt has even said Vince turned him down and told him to call Hunter but not to expect a different answer. Yeah they humored him by offering a low paying full time gig but again I thought it was an obvious attempt to humor him and let him go back to TNA as the guy who turned down WWE and not the guy WWE rejected yet again.

"We were so close with Sorensen!" I hate to get morbid, but Chris Candido. And if you want to get technical Curt Hennig. Wasn't Crash Holly working for TNA when he died as well?

Even if TNA somehow finds a way to stick around Kurt will eventually get bored of wrestling the same scrubs all the time and spend more and more time on other projects. I don't see him hanging around that long with the WWE having zero interest.

TNA DOES need the star power to help get a TV deal since most everyone else they had are gone outside of Hardy and on a lesser level Lashley and MVP. I can see the WWE threads already. First everyone is happy and two months later they wish he go away to make room for "New younger talent" that likely wasn't going too get push him there or not.

I am honestly a bit depressed over this news, if it's true. Sure, it was a long shot, but the chance of Kurt returning to take down Rusev was glorious to think about.
I don't get why anyone would resign with TNA at this point. The company is basically on life support and is just waiting on some merciful soul to come along and pull the plug. Even if they do get a TV deal, I still don't see them lasting over a year (and that's being generous).

If WWE wasn't going to bring him back, it's not like he had much choice. He's got to do *something* to pay off his upcoming funeral.

I'd be afraid that Rusev's kick would knock Angle's head clean off, or Rusev would break Angle in the Accolade.

Clearly WWE has no interest in him. Anyone who actually held hope for Angle vs anyone under WWE contact was only fooling themselves. In actuality, the rumor is that the WWE WERE interested, but only if Kurt was willing to commit full time. Considering we don't know the entire truth to this, its a bit premature/near-sighted to blame either side here. We just dont have enough information to say anything "clearly". Ten years from now, Kurt will be the new "Macho Man" in respect to the WWE HOF. He'll be the guy that everyone will wonder why he's not in yet.

If he actually retired, he'd probably be a shoe in for that and a Legends contract. Some action figures, game appearances, a DVD set, and a HOF ring would probably be coming his way before long. I don't know that Kurt wants to retire yet, though. I saw that news, and I didn't buy it then and don't buy it now, particularly since it came after multiple reports Vince is hesitant to sign him due to not wanting an Olympic athlete dying while signed to them, and Triple H being annoyed that after he told Kurt no, Kurt contacted Vince to basically try to go over his head. While I am not saying that's 100% reliable information, it's also more plausible than them demanding Kurt sign with them fulltime, when RVD and Jericho, guys with arguably less star power or bargaining position, were able to secure part time deals without issue.

I'd like to think that the wwe door isn't completely closed because I think that he and Stephanie get along behind the scenes, a newspaper in Pittsburg asked her if Angle would ever return, she said that "never say never".
Kurt deserves his final match to happen at WM not in a shitty indy.

guy has no business in the ring. I'm glad to see WWE at least is being responsible and not enabling Kurt.

Great to see all the Doctors around here.
Depending on how he feels, if TNA would reinstate their 12 PPV, this would be the sort of thing a star like him would be ideal for, sign him for 12 matches, with each matches being split on these 12 PPV shows. Plus promos on TV.
As far as the WWE it's obvious they want to wash their hands off him and want to protect themselves if something would happen. They would welcome him if he didn't want to wrestle anymore.

Great to see all the Doctors around here. Ah yes, no evidence besides the common knowledge that Kurt has had alcohol and painkiller addictions, his knees are basically dust, and he is one bad bump (or moonsault off a cage) from a wheelchair. But yes, continue the snarky comments.

It would be just as dangerous of him to get back in a ring anywhere, so people making out like he's going to die in TNA yet were looking forward to some mystical magical no risk WWE return are lunatics. Kurt Angle is a grown man who can make his own decisions, knows his own health and can make decisions like the rest of us. He is not a child. Yes he has demons, everyone does and TNA stuck by Kurt through those issues. That's not to mention that the TNA schedule is so light that if Kurt decides not to retire, which is his choice, he is probably in the best place for his body.
Oh and I think it's a little despicable that people are making light of the deaths and serious injuries that have been incurred in TNA and seem to be fishing for more "TNA caused deaths" to add to the list.
