Does this apply to people who are already subscribers, or just people who sign up for November? Will current subscribers still get billed for November? And im getting serious "Krusty gets Kancelled" vibes from all these desperate attempts as well.

Yeah but they don't hold anyone to the commitment so who wouldn't cancel and resubscribe?

I resubscribed yesterday so I'm pretty pissed off that I'd have got it free if I'd have waited 3 days.

I'm not a fan of this at all, as it's going to have BIG repercussions. They were counting on people buying 6 months just because of Wrestlemania and now those people will just buy a sub for the month of March. This is going to lead to them either reneging on the lack of commitment or them raising the price of the network for at least a few months out of the year.
I think their March subscribers will rise about 50%, but every other month of the year will drop. This also means that a lot of people will purchase the network for the month only if they like what they see coming up on the next ppv which really really doesn't bode well for the way WWE's been doing business for the last... 15 years or so.
There is no positive coming out of this long-term for WWE.

There is no positive coming out of this long-term for WWE. Thing is, from the reports that have come out about it, WWE didn't enforce the commitment anyway for the people who actively went around it. It's a no-win situation because if they enforce a commitment, people won't subscribe and it creates bad PR that WWE doesn't want, but if they don't have a commitment, people will just subscribe for WrestleMania like you said.

Yeah but they don't hold anyone to the commitment so who wouldn't cancel and resubscribe? From what I've heard, anyone that has had the Network in the past is ineligible for the free month so I am guessing much like Netflix, Hulu and the like they'll be matching info to prevent it.

I'm not sure the small number of people who'll be bothered to do it will make them care that much though to be honest. They'll likely want to avoid people doing it but I don't think they'll be chasing up people who don't. Without meaning to talk out of school but with some of these things just using an alternative email is enough to 'fool' the system. It's like their 6 month commitment deal. They never even had the infrastructure in place to impose it. I'd be shocked if they even had anything as sophisticated as something that matched name/address info either now to be honest.

Yeah, screw the people who have been signed up since the start. As someone elsewhere said, is it really different to Netflix offering free month trials? Not really.

Yeah, screw the people who have been signed up since the start. I agree. I've been a paying subscriber since day one, would be nice to see a little appreciation. I realize that they are angling for new subs, and I'm in their "Will pay anyways" demographic, but maybe something else for us. I know they were giving out WWE Shop gift cards a while back, I'd take that.

That week was largely inaccessible, the videos almost never worked for me on the PS3. It wasn't until the end of the week that I was able to get anything to play all the way through. I'm not trying to sound sour, as I've been pleased with the Network so far, it's just a little disheartening to hear of all the ways WWE is trying for new subscribers, and taking their faithful customers for granted.
