I stated it in the Raw thread but I'll put it here too.
I know it is an unpopular opinion but does tonight (albeit unintentionally) show that there is a place for blood in todays WWE. It felt like the beatdown angle at the end was taken to another level by the accidental appearance of blood. So do you think there is a place for it in modern wrestling, as long as it is used sparingly, and after stringent checks on those who are going to blade?

I don't see why they need to blade. Just use fake blood like the movies do.

I would limit it to PPVs, and make it only 2-3 times a year, but yes

If guys get busted open the hard way, they tend to let it go. Blading is passe and unnecessary.

I get the whole idea about how it makes for a better story and TV but we don't need to have blade jobs every freaking week. I say do it once a month tops.

Yes I do. It shouldn't be forced upon wrestlers by the company, but if someone like an agent or Triple H thinks it could add to an angle/match then ask the wrestler if theyr'e okay with it. IF a wrestler volunteers to get color and wants to do it to add to the angle, let them. Do it sparingly and carefully. I don't think it's an extremely unsafe practice, especially the wellness policy and WWE knowing all about these guys' medical condition.

I absolutely think there is a place for it as long as the guys don't mind (and won't be punished for saying no), it is done as safe as possible, with a doctor at ringside and limited to a few times a year. Honestly I thought that, while amazing, the Trips beatdown of Bryan before Mania missed something without it. I am not against fake blood either as long as it doesn't look bad or hokey.

I think WWE's found a happy balance lately. We won't see blood-fests like the Attitude Era or that Eddie Guerrero match, but we're a long way from back in 2009 when they'd actually stop the damn match just to patch guys up.

Bloods necessary for storytelling at times.

Yeah I seem to remember circa 2000 Triple H getting bloodied seemingly every week on tv, I'd hate to see it taken back to that ridiculous level of usage.
Id say this year I'd have used it for moments like Bryan's beatdown at the hands of the Authority just before Wrestlemania, the breakup of the Shield, Cena v Lesnar at Summerslam and Rollins v Ambrose Hell in a Cell.
Id just like it to be on record I'm not a bloodthirsty monster wishing to go back to the days of unprotected chairshots! I just think there is a safe middle ground which would benefit modern wrestling.

I like that they had the stoppage to patch Cesaro up during the commercial break tonight.

Only if it makes sense. Ex: Rollins/Ambrose HIAC would have been acceptable.

I agree with most of you, if used sparingly I don't mind it. If someone gets busted open the hard way, I don't mind it....its a physical sport, it happens. But sometimes, yes, a bit of intentional blood can go a long way. So long as its all done safely, and is not a blood bath (a little goes a long way!) then yes, there is a place for it.

As long as its not Ric Flair-like stuck pig sort of stuff, it definitely adds to the drama.

Ever since WWE put in the no blading policy years ago, we had more bleeding by the wrestlers by accident than we did intentionally. Probably not gushers like Eddie and Cena but enough to satisfy the most bloodthirsty. To me, it's more impactful seeing someone bleed when you least expect & by accident than sitting around and waiting for them to awkwardly gig on camera. That is way more realistic because it is real.

If it happens hardway, fine, whatever accidents happen. In today's sue first society and them being a large corporate entity, in no way should they have wrestlers slicing themselves open and bleeding on each other. Whether it adds to the story or not is debatable.
Deliberately cutting yourself, nah sorry past that.

there is still a place for blading in certain circumstances in wrestling. no need for flair type blading but blood adds so much to a match when used right.

Nope. Hardway, sure, whatever, it doesn't look ridiculous. But there's no need for blading. We've had all these awesome feuds over the past few years, no blood, and it's not been detrimental at all (IMO.)

BLOOD has a place.
Blading? Nope. Man, just do a blood pack. Everyone thinks you're doing it anyway.

Why do we need guys to cut themselves to add to our entertainment?
It's pretty barbaric, when you stop to think about it. "Throwing your body around isn't good enough, I need to see you BLEED"
