Even with the TV deal as low grade it is. It is better this nothing but I wondering what talent can they keep? I know they are not going to get the money Spike was giving them and be interesting how they are going too big events they are normally PPVs. Maybe TNA can offer some other incentive to get talents to sign/re-sign. This network is still broadcast nationally. That may be enough incentive to get people to sign. I think what TNA needs is either A.) a name talent who genuinely wants to help TNA because he loves wrestling that much of B.) a name talent who has such a large ego that he Believes he'll elevate TNA with his presence; someone who has Hogan's ego but not his baggage. Imo TNA can't do "big" events anymore. At this point I'd say they should let Bound For Glory be its sole "big" card while other events are just "special episodes" of Impact. Your going from 99 Million to 59 Million house holds. That almost half of what they where. I like to know what big name you speak off on that because they have HAD every major name in wrestling on there roster that isn't a current star in the WWE on the regular. They are not going to get the kind of money help that Spike TV was giving them in production. Being on TV is great for some guys but that ends quick when you have to travel on your own dime and make peanuts after that. There is no name talent out there they already haven't had out there who fits the bill you are speaking about. There issue is this company doesn't know how to market. For years they believe JUST because one of those big names signed and just shows up. There ratings is going to jump. They have no idea on how to make that big name a BIG deal. It didn't take long to have Hogan himself big a deal to just another face on the show.

Or refused to give Sunny Candido's last check and if memory serves got her a ham instead. It was a dick thing to do, but the issue was since Sunny was not married to Candido they couldn't give her his check. Dick thing to do, but according to Candido's brother, his parents got the check. Didn't know about the parents part, so fair enough I guess. I'd always just heard the not getting it part so it just came off like, "Nope, we're taking this opportunity to save a few bucks."

Right between the American Heroes Channel and BBC America. Now I know what I'm watching between Star Trek TNG reruns and Hitler's Bodyguard. Vince will probably get Peter Capaldi to guest host Raw the week TNA debuts just to screw with them.

Does spike pay any of TNAs talant contracts? I think they might be paying Lashley due to Bellator. Outside of him I don't think there's anyone else on the current roster Spike is footing the bill for.

Ok tna lost a lot of their audience when they moved to Wednesday night without any advertisement, I think like someone else mentioned already, they're not gonna advertise this move either so they're gonna lose what's left of their audience...I expect their ratings to be 0.0

I had no idea Destination America even existed. Dude, it's got Monsters and Mysteries in America. That's the only show on this station I've watched. I prefer Deadly Hauntings personally, though I think it's in reruns now.

At this point, does it really matter? They go from a second tier cable network to a fringe network that barely exists. If you think the budget was getting cut before, wait until they get their checks for Destination America. Screw Gunner vs Shaw for the TNA World title, TNA may not be able to afford even those dudes with the new deal. Plus every time you hear about TNA getting a new tv deal, the channels keep getting more and more downgraded. I'm waiting for them to announce they are negotiating with METV. Well, at least I get METV.

Will it really be living if they're on Destination America? With shows such as the United States of Bacon and Amish Haunting, you'd think it was a parody channel at first glance. My point exactly.

Coming to you from public access 321 north of the McDonald's and to the right of the crack house, it's Impact wrestling! "Welcome to Impact Wrestling! This is Mike Tenay and my new co-host, Tyrone Biggums. As you know, Taz, was arrested last week for trying to solicit sex from an undercover cop behind a Burger King. As soon as we get bail money, Taz, we will get you out. Meanwhile don't drop the soap, buddy. On tonight's show; we have Knockouts Champion Peaches Lohan w/her pimp, Sweetback vs Velvet Sky. We will have action from the Meth Division. A cardboard box death match between Eric Young vs Larry the Hobo. TNA President Dixie Carter will address the rumors that TNA is being sold to Crenshaw Check Cashing and Gold. And in our main event, it's Gunner vs Crazzy Steve for the TNA world championship EBT card. Tonight, on Impact."

Guys, if, and I mean if this is true (let's face it, how many times have we heard "deal to be announced this week") lets just take a step back and breathe.
They are going to a fringe channel that is CARRIED AND AVAILABLE to 52 percent of the U.S. If you heard the Observer Radio where Metzer talked about this channel and everything that went with it he mentioned that no where near that amount actually had it. I actually had to go into my books (recently left a very good job in media sales to move to PA this week....I'm a moron) to look at their penetration numbers. Now granted it took a while due to the fact that the number was below threshold...and it rebranded on me...., and looking at numbers that are a couple years old, we're talking about a channel that has best guess 30-32 percent U.S. penetration. Could be a little more, could be a little less, but it isn't 52 percent.
Also Metzer said, and based off what I've seen he's probably going to be right about this, there's almost no way that TNA brings in more viewers than ROH does on a weekly basis. Their viewer/potential viewer ratio would need to increase almost 40 percent on this new channel to beat ROH's weekly viewers (remember they are syndicated so they are on at different times on different nights depending on where you live).
With that in mind, in terms of what size of audience you are looking at you can get a good idea of what kind of money they are getting. Couple that with the incompetence that has been on display at the management level in TNA (along with UTA's probably 15 percent), we can probably forget about these "big name" guys coming in now. They will be in direct competition with ROH now, and based off past history that is a battle they will lose. Time to re-label this forum the ROH forum for the incoming new number 2.

I also have to wonder if they'll be able to pack the Manhattan Center regularly for tapings.

I also have to wonder if they'll be able to pack the Manhattan Center regularly for tapings. They'll do what they did last time and bring in more ECW retreads and based all the angles on "ECW is so f***ing great" & the Attitude Era's greatest hits.

I say expand on the time the forum turned into a DuckTales one to covering the Disney Afternoon cartoons. Better yet, make this forum the official spot for all things animated.

So can we all finally admit TMZ was correct when they reported SPIKE cancelled Impact? Guess Lashley is done in TNA since SPIKE owns Bellator and he got a Bellator contract. Never fear, once Lashley fights an opponent with any skill that isn't getting paid to take a dive he'll get his ass kicked right out of Bellator and right back into TNA.

I'm sensing Bellator will keep protecting Bobby in hopes of him becoming a box office draw for them. He'll have a Goldberg type streak filled with the Bobby Blazes and Jerry Flynns of the MMA world before he faces an actual threat.

If TNA is going to Destination America they are going to have to clean up the show quite a bit since most everything they show is.... TVPG
