If TNA is going to Destination America they are going to have to clean up the show quite a bit since most everything they show is.... TVPG Destination America Rep: Thank you for coming in to our final meeting before we sign the deal for TNA, Ms. Carter. We welcome you and your, errrr, representative here...excuse me, I don't think we've met yet. Dixie Carter: Oh, ah'm sorry, sugah! This here is mah, er, "good friend" Mr. Vince Russo. He goes everywhere with me! Vince Russo: I can talk for myself, Dollface! Hi there, Vince Russo, the architect of the Attitude Era and the only true genius in pro wrestling! DAR: Uhhhh, OK, I don't know what an Attitude Era is, and it's a pleasure to meet you, but these meetings are usually reserved for company officials, sir. DC: Oh, it's alright, sugah, he's the most important man in TNA, he's going to be our head writer again... VR: Dah dah dah, zip it, I'll talk for myself! Look, Haircut, this is how it's going to go. I got jerked around by those scumbags at Spike, they couldn't take how real I am, and, as God as my witness, they sabotaged and sunk our company to get back at me! They're the reason we're in this dumpheap, and I'm looking for a little payback, by taking your rinky-dink network and running those pieces of slime outta business! You ca-pee-chee me, Men's Wearhouse? DAR: I, I only really understood about half of what you just said. What is going on here... DC: Oooo, I love when my Vincy Wincy talks his fancy City talk! VR: OK, so here's my vision for the NEW TNA! OK, we're gonna reboot everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! New set, new outfits, NEW ATTITUDE! You guys pay for it all, OK, so, I took a look at your lineup, it's low rent, but I can make it work! OK, we got this guy named Abyss, alright? He's a big, goofy looking motherf***er, but he'll do anything, go through a flaming table, eat glass, a real geek, ya know? OK, so here's what we do with him. We take him, and we make him...A AMISH GHOSTSQUATCH! DAR: I...I'm sorry, a what? VR: Goddamnit, he's an Amish Sasquatch who dies and becomes a ghost! We take him, and he can't be pinned by anyone, because he's a GHOST! People pass right through him! So we make him our f***ing champ... DAR: Sir... VR: ...And he holds the belt for a year, because NO ONE CAN PIN HIM! It's brilliant! I'm a f***ing genius! DAR: Sir... VR: So he's the champ, people love the gimmick, cause I came up with it, and I swear, on the name of my children, he brutalizes everyone! Men, women, people at ringside, he even sacrifices a goat to his Amish god... DAR: Sir, please... DC: Oh, ah love this part... VR: And eventually, this all leads to a match with this one-legged guy we got who had his leg blown off in the Iraq War, right, and he figures out the only thing that can beat Abyss The Amish Ghostquatch, and you know what it is? DAR: I...wait, what... VR: IT'S THE F***ING GHOST OF HIS LEG THAT GOT BLOWN OFF IN THE WAR!!! You know that the only thing that can beat a ghost is another ghost, right?! OK, so he challenges Abyss to a Ghost Leg Vs Double Headed Dildo On A Pole match, Vet Guy gets the Ghost Leg, he gets to use it on Amish AbyssSquatch, Squashbyss Amishplucker get the double headed dildo, he gets to... DAR: SIRRRR!!!! VR: Hey, I'm trying to lay out my vision here, ya hump! DAR: SIR! None of this is feasible in any way! First off, we cannot afford any of this ridiculousness that you're proposing, and MA'AM, what are you doing to yourself over there?! DC: Oops, sorry, sugah! DAR: And secondly...we are a PG network! We could not, in any good conscience, air any of this on our network! It has to be PG family friendly, like the rest of our programming! VR: ...how do you expect me to introduce the contortionist twin tag team, then? It's INTEGRAL to the storyline! Babe? DC: Yeah, sugah, it's got to be TV-14, or no deal. DAR: Get out of my office. DC: Can ah keep this pen?

It's too bad TNA has burned their bridges with Daffney, a return of The Governor would be perfect for Destination America's Alaska motif.

Honestly, what's even the point? The company is a shell of it's former self. They are just gonna put on a bunch of bullshit shows with a lot of talent who really aren't worth anything (and some great talent mixed in here or there) until Janice Carter wants to wake up from this never-ending nightmare and stop giving her daughter money so she can pretend to be a TV star.

With the use of "believed" rather than "believe", it makes it sound like people in TNA thought an announcement was coming this past Thursday and ended up being wrong. I'm not sure if that was Meltzer's intent here or not.
TNA doesn't want to come off as lame duck to who? Anyone actually paying attention has known about the TNA/Spike situation for months. Anyone who doesn't know about it by now doesn't care anyways. Plus, what does it matter? WWE put out press releases about moving to USA in 2005 and SyFy in 2010 in April of those years even though the moves didn't actually happen until October.
Who said the "best ofs" were not happening? I would think it wasn't Spike because according to this, Spike says they are happening.
Also, what is the source of info on the TNA side? If it's talent saying this, I thought Meltzer said they were being left in the dark by management, which would mean anything they're telling him is just their own guesses and speculation.

Be funnier if it said BOlieve. Honestly TNA is going to change networks and not really tell the viewers who may not been on there website about the move. It sounds like a train wreck.

Guys, if, and I mean if this is true (let's face it, how many times have we heard "deal to be announced this week") lets just take a step back and breathe. They are going to a fringe channel that is CARRIED AND AVAILABLE to 52 percent of the U.S. If you heard the Observer Radio where Metzer talked about this channel and everything that went with it he mentioned that no where near that amount actually had it. I actually had to go into my books (recently left a very good job in media sales to move to PA this week....I'm a moron) to look at their penetration numbers. Now granted it took a while due to the fact that the number was below threshold...and it rebranded on me...., and looking at numbers that are a couple years old, we're talking about a channel that has best guess 30-32 percent U.S. penetration. Could be a little more, could be a little less, but it isn't 52 percent. Also Metzer said, and based off what I've seen he's probably going to be right about this, there's almost no way that TNA brings in more viewers than ROH does on a weekly basis. Their viewer/potential viewer ratio would need to increase almost 40 percent on this new channel to beat ROH's weekly viewers (remember they are syndicated so they are on at different times on different nights depending on where you live). With that in mind, in terms of what size of audience you are looking at you can get a good idea of what kind of money they are getting. Couple that with the incompetence that has been on display at the management level in TNA (along with UTA's probably 15 percent), we can probably forget about these "big name" guys coming in now. They will be in direct competition with ROH now, and based off past history that is a battle they will lose. Time to re-label this forum the ROH forum for the incoming new number 2. I say expand on the time the forum turned into a DuckTales one to covering the Disney Afternoon cartoons. Better yet, make this forum the official spot for all things animated. Nah, too broad. Just make it the all-purpose Patti Mayonnaise forum.

I wonder if the network model would work better for TNA?
That is, if they had invested their money wisely and could run a network online.

It would work out nicely for me for them to be on Destination America as I do get that channel. My cable company dropped Spike so I haven't got to watch Impact since the first of October.

Even WWE's having to cut every corner imaginable and cancel most of the original content they had planned for the Network to try and make it look like the thing isn't a massive disaster, TNA would be bankrupted within a month of trying to run one.

TNA IMPACT-TV DEAL UPDATE by Dave Scherer @ 6:34 PM on 11/16/2014
We can confirm that we have been told by a few TNA sources that the company is indeed done with Spike TV and is expected to begin airing on a new partner in January of 2015. For those asking why so many people from within the company were tweeting about Spike and Bellator last night, we have been told that TNA and Spike are not having an acrimonious break up. TNA will still have a connection with Spike through Bobby Lashley and at this point, the December episodes of Impact are still scheduled to air on Spike at this time. Unlike when Spike cut off negotiations with WWE years ago, costing them money in their TV deal with USA as their leverage was taken away, this situation is said to be the opposite.
The new TV deal is said to be extremely close to completed, if it’s not already. We have heard from numerous sources that it will be a multi-year deal, which means TNA will have at least two more years on the air. It should be noted that many have speculated that the company was going to die at the end of the year, as some felt that they wouldn’t be able to find a new home for Impact. Barring and unforeseen development, that will not be the case. TNA will live on.
All signs point to it getting done in the next week, as Dixie Carter tweeted last week that they would announce a deal soon. We have been told that it will air on a smaller, lesser known network. While no one will confirm where the show will end up, there has been a lot of talk that it will end up on Destination America, which is owned by Discovery Communications (you can see if you have access to the channel by clicking here. It is available in a little more than half of the country, though speaking personally it is not currently available on the plan I have with Cox. I will have to pay to add it here in Las Vegas.
All signs point to the fact that the new deal will bring in less money than the old one did, at least at the start. However, with the new deal the company will have more opportunities in other areas. They will reportedly be able to have more programming on the network than just Impact and they will be the bellwether show for the network, putting them in a position where they will be a top priority for the new network. They will be in a position to potentially help grow a network. Even if they can’t, once the deal is signed they will have at least two more years to “start again” and that will be their plan once they start doing new shows in January.

Man, the attempts to spin the outlook as bright there are amazing. How the hell would it be of any benefit to TNA to have more shows when they can't even afford the one they have? How is there room for growth on a much smaller channel paying them far less money when they haven't been able to operate with any sort of regularity even with Spike propping them up? How is it possibly going to boost to paying them more given TNA hasn't gained any viewers in years and is just slowly hemorrhaging them, and is about to try and keep them hooked for the next month through a series of lazy clip shows where they probably won't even mention having a new network?

Yeah, cos if there's one thing F4W is known for, it's spinning things positively whenever TNA is concerned.

To be fair, Destination America is the first channel I have ever seen do a program about encounters with evil gnomes, so maybe they and TNA belong together.perhaps this will lead to the long awaited black and white, shaky cam segment of bearded hillbillies chasing Abyss through the woods at night.

Damn, I read that as Dave Meltzer/F4W/WO. My mistake, then. (that said, if it really helped to know what one's talking about, then 90% of dirt sheets & the IWC would be instantly disqualified, so... )

It'll be in the form of Storm and friends hanging out in the woods doing some kind of ceremony when the Wyatts find them and it turns into a found footage movie.
