It completely astounds me why WWE continuously promotes and praises a company that never amounted to anything. First they have the ECW episode on the MNW, which they had NOTHNIG to do with the MNW. Now, a whole week devoted to ECW? Please WWE, stop reinforcing these has-beens' into thinking their still relevant. Case in point, Tazz's tweet. It's over, it's dead, stop f***ing talking about it.

Nostalgia for the company led their two revival PPVs to sell very well, it had a ton of influence on the wrestling industry as a whole and the direction it went in as the 90s went on, quite a few big names from the 90s did tenures there in some cases that being how they got noticed, and to this day there's a rabid fanbase for it, plus for its humble beginnings it actually did get to levels like having PPV, national TV, and video games pretty damn quickly. It makes perfect sense to devote time to showcasing it.

The more they talk about it, and promote it as this "big thing that changed wrestling," than the has-beens will continue to have reunion shows and hog up the spotlight of other companies.

Will they have TNA Exposed in 10 years? That's the thing people don't seem to consider. ECW was basically the TNA of the 90's. Terrible ratings, attendance, and wrestling. They storyline's were mediocre and their wrestlers were terrible. But, WWE promotes ECW as this big company, and everyone believe it because WWE's just promotes the postivie without showing the negative. Many of us know TNA is currently terrible, but if WWE promoted TNA as fantastic television in a decade, many people who aren't watching it now will believe it.

Seriously, your comparing a low-tier trash wrestling company to THE BEATLES? im not comparing anything to anything, just saying using the logic of something thats been dead for a number of years shouldnt be brought out becuase its been dead for so long should thus apply to EVERYTHING then like dammit...Doctor Who died in 1989...why the hell did they drag that out and bring it back in 2005!! just more pointing out that the logic of "something died...never bring it back!!!" if applied to one thing then should be applied to everything...not comparing beatles to ecw...or doctor who to ecw...just more comparing the "it died, let it stay dead" outlook...

I like ECW. I did before the WWE machine warped my fragile little mind.

It's a good step beyond "you get all the PPVs for 9.99 and you also get all the old PPVs" in letting people know about other programming on the Network.
I assume the critics realize many of those old PPVs are way older than ECW?

I checked out Cyberslam 1996 to see what form it was in given I've seen 3 versions of the event, one somewhat-official, and two self cut by fans over the years.
It's entirely full with matches before the Pillman appearance, and all swearing is intact, so I'm assuming everything else in the show bar theme music (though Cyberslam didn't have many entrances on any release) is intact which is good.
Anyone else watched the other uploaded shows, they much the same?

TNA has NEVER been as critically acclaimed as ECW was in its heyday (94-97). TNA has NEVER been trumped as revolutionary. Bash ECW all you want for its own flaws but the TNA comparison is pretty dumb. ECW did try to make it big with the TNN era and THEN you can bash their ratings, attendance & their in-ring product was past its prime but before that...they weren't about those things as they were pretty much an Indy promotion that got so much buzz and acclaim it basically became "the Big 3" with WWF and WCW.

ECW did not include it when they released the show, and that is the way the show is presented on the Network. Cyberslam is missing Mick Foley's in-ring promo before his match with Shane Douglas for the same reason. The promo was described in Foley's first book but was never released to the public until it was included on the "For All Mankind" set WWE released last year.
