You know, the Hogan coming to the ring to "save the day" only to turn heel and shock the world. With the build of this match, it certainly paves the way for it. With this usual pay-per-view being a free-per-view, it seems like the WWE wants something major to happen to hook fans to come back for more. At first I though Dolph Ziggler could turn, but as much as I love Ziggler, that isn't even in the same stratosphere of a turn. If anything, I could see him being the Sting of the team where his team loses trust in him expecting him to be a mole for the Authority when he isn't. I thought about Sheamus or even Reigns being the guy to do it. While these would be big and in some ways shocking and needed turns, but even these wouldn't have the gut punch gravitas that such a moment needs to succeed. CM Punk would be perfect...if he were ever showing back up in the WWE. So here's my thought. There is one guy that could do this and shock the wrestling world.
The Undertaker.
There have definitely been rumblings of doing a Cena v Undertaker match at Wrestlemania. Cena even cut a promo about Lesnar I believe which contained some possibly veiled shots at The Undertaker. If they do move forward with that feud for Wrestlemania, you would think the WWE would want to take steps to try to not have Cena booed out of the building. The build with HHH and Undertaker in their streak matches were that they were the last of a dying breed. It is conceivable that Undertaker could side with HHH against those that he sees as beneath him. The moment would be huge. It would make people want to see what happens next. People would talk about it. I think with the current stipulations, there is no way the Authority is going to lose. This would be a way to pull it off that people would talk about for a long time to come.

His brother is on the inside. They could play it like the loss to Lesnar messed him up in the head.
I don't know, might not be best for business and all that jazz but I like it becuase it's outside the box and makes some sense.

There's nobody that could make the impact Hogan did by turning heel. DB's was outright rejected and they had to change plans. Cena is close but since he's a heel to a lot of people anyway, it wouldn't change things that much.

Also, HHH and Undertaker showed mutual respect the last time they fought at Wrestlemania and seem to be on decent terms in story-line Undertaker siding with Vince/Authority has actually happened twice before (Corporate Ministry and the "You think that you're better than me" turn on Jim Ross.) This wouldn't be a total Russo. A turn here could make some sense from a character POV. From a business POV, if WWE wants to do Cena/Undertaker or Sting/Undertaker at Wrestlemania, making Undertaker (at least on paper) a heel makes all the sense in the world.

To paraphrase Good Ol' JR "Not like this by gawd!!"
I'm at the point of Taker needs to take a year and more off to heal to the point I don't fear will turn into dust taking a bump.

Is this fantasy booking or what you think might actually happen? Because the last time we saw Undertaker he looked like Edgar Winter

I'd rather we didn't rely on hundred year old wrestlers to be the focus of the company.

Undertaker turning heel would be Hoganesque?
Even when he did it twice before it wasn't Hoganesque.
Why would the 3rd time be the charm?

Can a 'Legend' who wrestles a part-time schedule ever be a heel though? Someone like Taker is just going to get a huge welcome back pop from the crowd whenever he returns.
Brock Lesnar is only able to overcome this by having Heyman who can make the crowd detest him within two words of his promo!

I'm calling it now: Grumpy Cat turns heel next week on Raw.
Unless Grumpy Cat is already a heel. I'm not even sure what Grumpy Cat is, to be honest.

From the perspective of it's a guy a lot of fans can't see turning heel. Outside of a shocking Cena turn (which isn't happening most likely), there isn't much that could equal the impact of the Hogan turn. Undertaker turning would be about as big as they could get. Let's not forget, Hulk Hogan had been a heel prior to the NWO turn. Hogan turned face in 1984 and turned heel in 1996 with the NWO. Undertaker was last heel in 2002. Undertaker is mostly done. He may have 1 or 2 matches left in him. With the streak over, he needs an actual storyline leading up to his Wrestlemania match this year.

Only thing that could match the Hogan turn is the Bunny coming down to save Cena only to hit the big legdrop and high five the Authority.

Sure, it had been 12 years for each since they were heels, but Hogan's prior heel run is absolutely eclipsed by Takers. The Undertaker's initial WWE run was such a notable one that even mentioning it next to Hogan's pre-WWE heel run is making a misleading unfair comparison.

I really, REALLY like the idea and the explanation behind it, but...if Undertaker comes out as if to save Team Cena and then turns and chokeslams Cena?
Biggest. Pop. Ever.

I don't think this is happening. I think the real story is going to be Ryback temporarily getting the Authority to trust him, and then swerving them hard during the Survivor Series match and sabotaging them. I expect him to decimate Rollins, eliminate himself, and leave Cena as the last man standing.

Wouldn't Cena turning be more Hogan like? So much more of a surprise. Cena decides that he can't beat the Authority and turns on his own team.
