Akeem pretty much put it best when he said that Bonnar is the Ken Anderson of MMA.

"THIS IS AWESOME", "THIS IS AWESOME"
From the bad promos to the big reveal of a trainer under a mask who probably nobody recognized to the lipsyncing entrance music to the lackluster fight, now I know why people make fun of Bellator.
I seriously wanted to punch out that guy who was lipsyncing Sephan Bonners entrance music. That was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen.

The star of the main event was that ref's epic mustache. Best in the world!

That whole main event from entrance to closing was bad. Bellator had a decent thing going for awhile, but they clearly are desperate to try to draw attention while the UFC is sort of struggling to find some new stars to build around. I just don't think trotting out the stars of 10 years ago in manufactured feuds talking about turd burgers while coming to the cage with a Methods of Mayhem cover rapper is gonna legitimize this promotion.

That was Method of Mayhem dude?!?! I remember him being a lot fatter. Good for him; getting in shape. Too bad his career hasn't fared as well. That was one of those things were you're embarrassed to watch.

As much as I like him, it's frustrating to watch Michael Chandler make mistakes that cost him in the long run. He's getting too confident in being an explosive fighter that he runs out of gas early and that might have made him lost 2 of his last 3. It's a shame because he's good and could have been one of the faces of Bellator with Pat Curran but he's getting complacent.

nevermind all of the other bullshit, the difference in the quality of fighting between Bellator and UFC is staggering. UFC is the place that everyone wants to be so I just don't see any in their prime stars sticking around in a substandard promotion.

The star of the main event was that ref's epic mustache. Best in the world! Mike Beltran has the best beard in all of sports. That said, I like Coker bringing back the Strikeforce style entrances as well.

A mate of mine summed up the main event quite well saying it was like the MMA equivalent of watching the old man section of the final Metal Gear Solid 4 boss fight.

Allegedly over 2 million people watched this fight, I think the Bonnar-Ortiz crap was just a Trojan horse so that they could showcase a future player like Will Brooks. Coker did that on Strikeforce at the beginning he had shitty main events but was also quietly building up guys like Gilbert Melendez, Jake Shields, and Luke Rockhold just to name a few.
It's gonna be a trainwreck but Coker should book next Ortiz vs Newton for the lightheavyweight belt, provided if Newton beats his next opponent. It's a win win situation, if Tito somehow wins he can continue being a draw, and if Newton beats the f*** out of him he would become a draw. They should have the old washed up recognizable guys to bring in ratings but have the future talent kill them and they get instant credibility. Kinda like what Heyman did when he started booking for ECW, he used Muraco and the old guys only to put the younger talent over, obviously Bellator is different, it is real, although they did a weird and shitty pro wrestling angle.
