I skipped Rumble 2010 because I was 100% convinced Triple H was winning (and then defeating Sheamus for the title at Mania 26) and was gutted when I found out Edge won.
I know most people don't like 2009 Rumble but I'll always have a soft spot for it because Orton is my favourite wrestler ever, I watched it live and was like a marky child throughout and at the end.

I'd take 2010 over 2009 anyday. Nothing happened in 2009. It was just one entry after another with nothing exciting happening in between. RVD's cameo was the only bright spot and the ending with HHH and Legacy was so predictable. I'd take 2009 over 2010 any day of the week, and 4 times on Sunday. I loved 2009's Rumble. For 2010 I was bored by it.

Like I said, other than RVD I can't think of one memorable moment in that match.

Some moments, Orton's entrance when Trips stops fighting as does everyone else, Orton's RKO rampage which included the RKO on Mysterio, Mysterio saving himself from elimination by walking on people, Legacy working together and not having dissension (I was a Legacy mark), Dolph's elimination, Santino's elimination, Cody and Ted biting the bullet so Orton could eliminate Trips and win.

See, for me none of that is memorable. 2010 you at least had: - CM Punk's preaching in-between entrants - Beth Phoenix eliminating Khali - Shawn Michaels eliminating HHH - Shawn being desperate to win and going on a superkick spree after being eliminated - R-Truth eliminating Big Show and Mark Henry - Edge returning and winning the Rumble You being a Legacy mark does explain a lot of your love for 2009 though.

No Rumble will ever be as bad as either 1995 or 1999.
So any opinion besides "At least it wasn't either of those", I will accept.

- Drew McIntyre getting quite a bit of time and actually getting to hang with DX - Beth Phoenix entering and eliminating Khali - R-Truth eliminating Big Show and Mark Henry at the same time - Kofi Kingston being pretty much an afterthought, considering his push in the months prior - The three ECW participants having the worst performances ECW ever put up in a Rumble, including Shelton jobbing to HBK AGAIN, and Ryder jobbing to a microphone - The Miz getting surprisingly little time in the match, considering how the rest of his year went - The fact that, in 2010, the match was built around Shawn Michaels Just a very strange match in general, though still far from the worst one ever. Most of those are only odd in hindsight though. - Drew was being pushed as a McMahon endorsed heel, so him having a good showing made sense - Beth eliminating Khali and Truth eliminating Show/Henry aren't that unusual, most Rumbles have at least one "shocking" elimination - Miz's push didn't start until much later in the year - HBK was about to retire and desperately wanted to face Taker, the champ I mean, we'll probably look back at this year in 2018 and find a lot of stuff odd. "Remember when Rusev was taken seriously?"

Never really watched wrestling as a die hard. Kept up with Raw for a few years, but this was my first Rumble I'd ever seen. I started watching wrestling regularly afterwards, and became the biggest Punk mark. 2010 Rumble was awesome, but I honestly feel like even at it's worst the Royal Rumble is an annual highlight.

2009 and 2010 are at the extremes for me. I much prefer Rumbles in between, with some guys but not too many.
Honest to god other than Big Show ruining the match somewhat by tossing Miz and Cody, I love the 2012 Rumble to death. Announcers, WWE Legends and Kharma showing up just makes it fun, and the strong sequence of Jericho and Sheamus saves it after Show kills the momentum.

Felt like they barely tried to stand out. Maybe that worked in it's favor. Rather than trying to outdo every year, making it a standard Rumble was refreshing.

I'll say this, though. It was probably the last Rumble to generate any excitement over who might win. Going in, you had five strong candidates, Michaels, Triple H, Cena, Batista, and even Jericho. And the winner ended up being a surprise entrant. Since then, it's been painfully obvious who was going to win. Well, 2011, but just because they swerved us doesn't mean the end result was actually any good. I remember most people picking Edge to win even though he wasn't announced.
