Another wrestling show on a network I unfortunately don't have or willing to pay extra money on my cable bill just to watch.

So they're going to debut by showing a match from 2 years ago? I know that series of matches is lauded but going with something that old seems odd. Given that the participants are still the top stars of the promotion and have another match coming up on PPV, it actually seems like a very good idea to me.

If the show was before the PPV I'd agree but it is well after. I also thought they had some more recent ones as well but am not sure. Either way though, this seems more of a show to highlight the archives than the current stuff so it doesn't reall matter.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts the Jarrett gameplan. Airing the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom show on U.S. PPV and shopping that around to TV networks as "this is an example of what Global Force Wrestling can do on TV" isn't a great idea now that NJPW now has its own show.

Anyone know what provider carries that network? Dish and Direct do. Also Cableone seems to carry it. Heard Time Warner dropped it a few years back. But it seems most major providers have it. It is usually on one of the higher tiers.

I think a lot of people who haven't taken the time to read the details are under the mistaken impression that they're going to get the weekly NJPW TV show with English commentary, when that is not the case. It's better than nothing though, and hopefully leads to the network having a desire to air fresh content regularly.

They played it out well, checked to make sure and see what day they are moving and quick to latch onto the day they was on before.

Finn Balor appearing on NJPW and NXT in the same week is going to seem weird.

I'll check it out but I don't think it will cater to a weekly episodic event. And it won't function to sell tickets to live events. So, I don't see the point other than to have an excuse to put some different wrestling out there, which isn't a bad thing. NJPW gets paid for providing the programming, and it can be used to run commercials for any upcoming PPVs or iPPVs (whichever the case may be). The iPPVs had been doing pretty well in the States without any NJPW television here. The added exposure they will get to the U.S. audience through running old matches with iPPV commercials in between could double or triple (or even more) the number of buys they do here. Add up the TV rights fees they will be getting and, say, an extra 1,000 iPPV buyers once a month, and they've suddenly got an extra maybe $30,000 coming in every month from the U.S. market.
