Heaven's Gate The supposed worst film ever made is in fact a beautifully made, flawed masterpiece (albeit overly long) which serves as a real critique against the American Dream and whilst the part it played in ending the New Hollywood movement cannot be ignored I think based on it's own merits as a picture it should get more mainstream recognition. Regardless if the film is good or bad (personally I found it to be aright)the hatred for it is somewhat justified when you consider as how yourself put it "helped end the New Hollywood movement" which in turn led to rise of a studio system that pretty that is extremity reluctant to take any chances.

Begins and ends with Scrappy-Doo.
At least he's not accused of being an ethnic stereotype (Jar Jar Binks) or an author's self-insert character (Wesley Crusher).
If you hate Scrappy-Doo, then you also hate Scooby-Dum, Scooby-Dee, or the various relatives of the Scooby Gang.

Amazing Spider-Man 2. It was alright and I enjoyed it, although it could have been better. I see people trashing it, comparing it to Spider-Man 3 and Batman & Robin. Seriously?

Why do people hate Thanksgiving? Personally, I don't have a lot of family, can't stand Turkey, stuffing, or pumpkin pie, and think football is boring.

I second Twilight. I saw the first film and it wasn't bad at all. I've never seen it since nor have I seen the others and some of the dialogue was cringe-worthy but it was watchable enough. The films don't appeal to me but I'm not exactly their target audience. I used to laugh when people moaned about the whole "sparkling Vampires" thing. The attributes and weaknesses of Vampires in the history of Movies (and literature) change from film to film, why should Twilight be singled out for changing an aspect of their behaviour? For me, the problem with sparkly vampires in Twilight are the massive amount of plotholes and inconsistencies it brings with it. Skin that sparkles in sunlight would be a big obstacle to the Twilight vampires living among humans in daylight, but the author never addresses the issues other than saying "it's OK, the weather is always cloudy"

Now Scrappy isn't one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time or anything, but if you lived through the Internet in the '90s, you'd think he was a mass murderer akin to Hitler. Also, he did not kill the franchise. Yes he killed the original format (including taking most of Mystery Inc. with it) but it lasted in various series for 7 years after his introduction. I am convinced that the same teens/young adults who were on the Net back then now work for Warner Bros., given the burial of Scrappy to the point where he has been given the Benoit treatment, as his series won't be released in full, nor is he mentioned on the cases of the DVDs of shows/movies he does appear on.

Ben Affleck. Between Argo, Gone Girl and The Town, he's turned a corner from Daredevil and Gigli. True. I don't look forward to Batman v Superman but that has nothing to do with Affleck. I think the backlash against him has more to do with the overall whole rather than Affleck since he's more than proven himself a capable actor. Affleck was never the same after the media milked Bennifer Mk. 1 for all it was worth. Would Gigli be as infamous if it weren't for us being sick of them at the time and wanting them to fail? (And the rumors about Lopez & Affleck wanting to remake Casablanca...*chills*...)

Justin Bieber. I'm talking prior to him embracing the hate and acting like a prick, but during his "Baby" days. He's not the first artist to pander towards girls and he won't be the last but the amount of shit he was getting online was insane.

The Star Wars prequels. We've all seen movie much worst that did not get that kind of out cry. the truth was they were just ok, and the hate for the movies is just an overreaction. This. I rewatched the prequels again a couple of weeks back having not watched them in about 2 or 3 years. I loved them when I saw them in cinemas when I was younger, and I still like them now. Plus, Revenge of the Sith is probably the 2nd best out of them all for me (at least till TFA comes out).

You still have Portman & Christensen's non-acting to deal with, plus the Crowning Moment of Character Derailment that is the Big No/Do Not Want.

Just take the Spider-Man scenes and you'd think they mostly Got It (TM). At least Spidey isn't a silent hero here ala Keaton Batman, as Maguire's was.

Yeah, now it's a different story, but there was no good reason for pre-2012 Bieber to get the hate he got. And unless members of One Direction start acting out, they don't deserve it either.

Taylor Swift -- I don't get the hate at all She's the John Cena of music. Calculated push to turn her into an underdog megastar that comes across as very fake. And much like Cena, she's starting to roll with the punches and she's making music of better quality now.

Portman I'll grant you is still a bit wooden, but HC EXCELLED in the movie, particularly during and after his corruption by Palpatine. Yeah, the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" was cheesy as sin, but these movies have had other insanely cheesy moments, even in the OT. RotS has a solid plotline, and even though we knew what was coming with Anakin, the turn was probably one of the best villainous moments in an action flick ever. Like when Anakin is doing silent scenes or during the battle with Obi-Wan, I thought that was some of the best acting out of the six.

As far as I'm concerned, while Hayden mostly excelled with silent moments (such as the Sith eye reveal under the robe), his delivery of "I HATE YOU!" is the beastliest line delivered in Star Wars.

Shinji from NGE. I will admit that when I first watched the show in 2001 I was Shinji hater as I thought he was a whinny pussy. But re-watching the show several years made me change my mind and made me think why do so many people hate him. But the whole him being a whinny pussy has been grossly over-exaggerated and it does give credence to theory that a lot of fanboys hate him because they have more in common with him than they would like to admit. As he is pretty much a realistic deception of how a normal teenager would respond to being forced with the responsibility of saving the world from extinction by fighting a unknown race of aliens would act how badly it would mess them up both mentality and physical.

This is the internet, it is "cool" to hate things but "not cool" to like anything. I learned from the internet that everything sucks, if you don't believe me then just watch any YouTube video. I do not understand the hate that Aaron Rogers gets, he is a amazing QB and he is one of the best in all of the NFL. This is coming from a Vikings fan who by tradition should hate The Packers and everyone on the team. Uhhh...yeah.... Running around the net and reading this thread has proved the opposite to me. People so hard up to be unbothered, and cool that they will call any "hate" irrational.
