Major injuries...well, the knee (torn menicus, I think) one of course back in 1990, but that's so long ago and his style changed it doesn't really count.
He's had persistent shoulder problems, might've been rotator cuff, and I believe he's got very little if any cartilage left in his knees. That's why his Deathlock's so poor in recent years, he can't sit down on it like he used to.
All that plus Father Time, there's simply not much spring in those legs or gas in that tank at 55 years old.
On the positive side - he doesn't need to enter 2015's Mr. Universe, he merely (I say merely, I know it's gonna take real hard work) needs be in good "55 year old in a unitard" kind of shape. He doesn't have a gut, he just doesn't have any definition and cardio is a question mark...both those things he has time to do something about. Any little niggling injuries and aches should be taken completely care of with his time off, while mentally he'll be able to focus on a big match and what he wants to do. The hair's not really an issue to me.
This Survivor Series spot seemed a fairly late call, to build up for the future, so I'm not so surprised to see the t-shirt and coat routine. I will be more surprised if that's still the case by the build to WM31.
As for opponents, Madison is dead right...there are several that could work, and I am holding out a little hope that if WM31 goes well Sting might just stick about to do a few more bouts. For something big like WM31, while Taker has the spectacle Hunter would be a great choice and more likely to take the pin as well I guess.

I don't care what anyone says. Joker Sting was awesome.

I have a feeling the Sting "run" will be like Undertaker's. Less is more. As long as he isn't on TV every week, he will look worlds better than he may be.

I personally would like Mania against Taker to be his last match, but before that I think he could face a bunch of top guys for a last run/finally in WWE run. I think he looks in better shape than he was in TNA and WWE is full of great ring generals that could give him good matches. I could see a run similar to the 2002 Hogan run.

I think we should also bare in mind thst when he showed up on Sunday, he had had several months off from being on the road and working the ring full time, which probably means more time to work out and lose weight and a lot less stress on your body. So anyone would probably look better. Sunday was him looking better? :/ Compared to his late TNA work-yeah. And anything looks better than Joker Sting.

I don't care what anyone says. Joker Sting was awesome. Bits of it I did like. The whole routine to psych Hogan into accidentally revealing the truth was great, as was that build to get a match with Roode where he'd been crazy and annoying him and then totally dropped it in the go-home promo along the lines of "I got what I wanted from this, time to be serious here."

Besides his hair, I thought he looked great. I'd have to check, but I feel like his hair was darker at the summerslam panel. As far as what opponent would be best, while The Undertaker would be a bigger spectacle on paper, I worry that the match would be garbage. I hated the lesnar match, I was bored or of my mind and actually stopped paying attention. I'd like to see him fight Triple H more, just because Trips could carry him to a better match and Trips wouldn't mind laying down.

HHH will somehow drag a really good NWA style match out of Sting.

If sting wrestles his first and only match at wm31 he will actually be 60 at the event. 60 year old man debuts at wrestlemania. Let that sink in.

On a personal level I'm kind of rooting for him, it's easy to forget the dude apparently had serious substance abuse problems back in the WCW days. Hopefully he can get his one match in and call it a career. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised at how much he can still pull off when he's motivated.

WWE know how to do Hollywood style matches at WrestleMania. Give him the right opponent, the right booking and angle and the crowd will carry it alone nevermind the talent involved. So long as they let others have the "workrate" on the show, Sting will have no problem at WrestleMania.

Hogan didn't have to do dick, and it's a great match.

He only seemed to blink twice and almost had a trance on HHH - you can establish Sting as an experienced, mind games guy. That alone covers 50% of his match straight away. Sting will walk through his match no problem. The major issue is WWE botching his angle going into it and Sting feeling the need to do more than he needs to and exposing his limitations.

His age isn't a problem with me. I think the roster is too full of guys who use their athleticism to forego having to construct a narrative when they step into the ring. If a guy struggles with certain physical demands then it might lead to more thought going into what he does.
