First off, this isn't a criticism thread. (Not by me, anyway) So The Stinger is in his mid fifties. By the time he (assuming he does) locks up at next years Wrestlemania he'll be 56. I believe Flair was in his mid to late fifties during his last match (in WWE) in 2008. We saw Sting on Sunday, I can't tell how his physique is but he looks pretty good. His face doesn't look old, but maybe that's the make-up helping out. His hair is thinning, but a guy in his mid fifties, particularly a caucasian male (most prone to it) balding? There should be no surprise there. I don't know if he has had work done, but he's actually got a decent amount of hair for his age. Maybe he should dye it jet black to look more like classic Crow Sting, but that might make the thinning more noticeable. Anyway, so we saw Sting come out, he seemed to move pretty well, and then he hit an excellent Scorpion Death Drop on HHH. I never watched much TNA. I recently watched Sting vs Samoa Joe from I think, 2008, at Bound for Glory. I was very impressed by the then 48/49 year old Sting, who moved about the ring very well, but that was 6 years ago. He could be way less mobile now. Think of the difference between Hogan in 2002 (some genuinely 3 to 4 star matches with Angle, Jericho, Lesnar and Rock, and moving and bumping well) and on the 2009 Hulkamania tour (hobbling about, can't do anything but punch, can't take any bumps). So how was Sting in the last few years in TNA? I think he was out of shape and wore a t shirt in the ring? Also I heard his matches sucked? An important point though: I imagine his motivation levels would sky rocket from "well, here goes another year in the little Impact Zone to an audience of few" to "Holy shit. I'm going to wrestle in WWE, the big stage, for the first and maybe last time; I better be at my best!" So, perhaps he could have been in better shape and put on better matches in TNA the last few years but his motivation was summed up by this gif Do you someone like HHH, or maybe even The Undertaker, could get one or two last good matches out of Sting? And he could look presentable whilst doing it? Or should Sting never try to wrestle again? I believe he never had any major injuries? Sting the last few years-

I think if it's one match, Sting can get in shape and still put on a good show.

I think we should also bare in mind thst when he showed up on Sunday, he had had several months off from being on the road and working the ring full time, which probably means more time to work out and lose weight and a lot less stress on your body. So anyone would probably look better.

I believe he never had any major injuries? Thing is, WWE is full of guys right now that could get a good match out of an aging Sting. Bryan, HHH, Ziggler, Rollins and Ambrose maybe, even Cena pulls off really good matches with lesser workers. Undertaker, for all we want the big dream match, would not be one of them at this point. He's hurt, he's lumbering, neither man would have a younger, less broken body propping them up and keeping them motivated. Biggest injury I can think of regarding Sting was that leg injury he suffered in WCW after the Horsemen turned on him.

I don't think his hair would be that much of an issue. Undertaker cut all his hair off, there was a brief gasp, then we all were over it.
But as you say, I think the WWE deal has reinvigorated him, and they are actually putting $$$ into him with merch, video games, figures etc. I don't think TNA forced their guys to be in peak physical condition. Many wrestlers were though. WWE are much more image conscious, Sting knows this. He will want to be in the best shape for a WrestleMania.
I think there are a good few wrestlers who could be put with Sting for a match. But if you're only going to have one match with Sting, it has to be a marquee match, and with a top guy.

I think Sting will be motivated to look good for WrestleMania so that he that doesn't have to wrestle in a t-shirt. I think Sting has pride in himself not to want to give an embarrassing performance, nor to look out of shape for WrestleMania.
Whether or not they have to make it a street fight to help Sting, I think Hunter is one of the best choices at working him through a good match.

I think Triple H is the best choice. I mean, he got a watchable match out of Kevin Nash in 2011, and I'm pretty sure even a mid-50s Sting is still leagues ahead of that guy.
Trips may be boring in standard matches, but he knows how to work a brawl like few others.

I think it also depends on who his match would be against. If the purpose is to gig him his swan song in the biggest way possible, it's definitely better it be against someone with a stature equal to his, like Trips or The Rock. But if we are just talking a match for the sake of it, then it is better it be someone younger and more able bodied in the ring.

Sting was freaking dookie during his last few years in TNA. I don't care what anyone says, he was ass. He was old, broken down, and couldn't do much at all in the ring.
THAT BEING SAID, it's TNA. Guys straight up give up when they are in TNA. This is WWE so Sting will actually try again. So, he could be alright especially if he's in there with someone like HHH. Especially especially if the match is at Wrestlemania.

That gassed gif pisses me off every time. There are dozens of those gifs for dozens of the wrestlers. They aren't out of shape they just couldn't care less about TNA.

Sting's not the athlete he once was, but he still can tell a great story in the ring at his age.

Sting will absolutely be able to put on a good match, especially with Hunter who is an all-time great and still fully capable of going.

I think Sting will be perfectly fine. It's not as if he had a ton to work with in TNA. I'm sure he is going to give this (supposedly) final run all he has. It's not like his body is broken down like a lot of the older guys. He'll be fine.
It also amazes me that so many wrestling fans are concerned about his hair. Speaking on a personal level, I don't give much of a f*** about his hair or anyone else's.

Look up Sting's match with Magnus from last year's Bound For Glory. He was straight up terribly out of shape there and looked every bit his age and then some throughout the whole thing. That being said, he already looks better than he has in a long time judging by what could be seen of him on Sunday, and Triple H is the sort who will work his ass off to drag him to a good match.

It's amazing that people are worried he wont be in shape for his first Wrestlemania. HHH is probably his gym partner as we speak.
