What are some of the things that made Smackdown 4 shut your mouth great here is some for
1. The Game Play was a lot fun which you could play for hours 2. Bigger roster with newer wrestlers this was the first game to feature Brock Lesnar RVD Booker T DDP Lance storm and others and Also the first game to have hogan and flair in it since the royal rumble snes game and kevin nash's first game since Raw 3. The Create a wrestler mode so much fun you could make almost anybody 4. Fighting on the subway so much fun if you wanted to get away from your opponent 5. Snowball fight that was always a lot of fun 6. Season mode was a lot of fun. 7. Graphics were really good 8. The Commentary was a lot better then the game before it 9. Overall better game and a vast improvement compared to smack down 3 10. The credit video at the end

Still the best WWE game for my money, even if they did improve on the story mode with Here Comes the Pain, there was a beautiful simplicity to the controls of Shut Your Mouth.
I loved how each person on the game had a personalised backstage encounter, my favourite being where you could tell Val Venis you saw a hot chick at ringside and later he came back to you saying 'there was no hot chick, you lied to me!' and you'd brawl with him.

The roster was really good since it was based off of late 2001/early-mid 2002. Free roaming during season mode was really fun and I killed a lot of time aimlessly running about times square and talking to wrestlers standing around. I vividly remember most of the roster had alternative attires, some even had three different options, which was always welcomed. Climbing the fist of the Smackdown set.

I played that shit a ton, mostly for the season mode. I'm a huge fan of drafts, so the Smackdown/Raw draft was my jam.

I will never forget that feeling of isolation as you wandered backstage and there was nobody to bump into that week.

Shut Your Mouth had a better Invasion Storyline than the actual Invasion storyline.
I also love that you can join Vince and Flair and be the top heel in the company.

SmackDown SYM was one of the two games I bought with my PS2 last year (the other was Tekken 5), and the game is awesome after so long. -Many of the character models, for example, Booker T and Jeff Hardy, were very spot-on, even down to their own mannerisms. -Two-year season mode, recreating storylines such as the Invasion and the nWo showing up. -A huge variety of match types, from singles to ladder to even Hardcore matches going all over the arena. -It was over-the-top in a good way. It's quite fun jumping off the SmackDown! fist, and it's pretty hilarious that you can throw snowballs at your opponents. I spent hours playing the game, and it was time well spent. I actually played it more than Here Comes The Pain, another favorite of mine.

I'll remember this game always for the crazy entrances like the Jackass homage, Booker T's entrance gone wrong, and the Spider-Man entrance.

I saw the most awesome random thing ever on there one time.
I forget who I was playing as, but I was talking to Trish backstage. For no reason whatsoever, Eddie flys up and just decks the poor woman, tells me something about showing me what Latino heat was all about and then we're in a match before I could even really process what had happened.
The first few earlier Smackdowns were great. It's a shame that the franchise got so hack.

Remember how awesome the create a wrestler used to be in a basic form? Like you could match the face, hair, etc., and make a close approximation someone real.

It had a sense of fun and innovation that they never quite matched again. "You wanna climb the Smackdown fist and fight up there? Sure, why not!" Nowadays we can't even throw someone off the stage or into the walls. Combined with the still-simple controls (no different reversal buttons for strikes and grapples, which plagued the series for years) and arcadey feel, it was just amazing. As far as classic games go, I'll take this over HCTP and No Mercy any day.

I forgot about that outdoor area. Really liked that game at the time. Definitely a HUGE step up from JBI.

Although the gameplay was very arcadey you could still have some great back and forth encounters.

The funniest match I had on this game I was facing Hogan and Nash in a handicap, I was getting destroyed when Hogan decides to stop and pose for the crowd. So I pinned Nash while Hogan kept posing, LOL

I made some great CAW that didn't fit the model of a regular human. Tomato heads, eyes as big as tennis balls, hell I had a tag team of two ridiculous looking guys called Fish Fillet USA. They came out to Real American with the DX entrance moves. I wish I could upload it.
Oh, and having attire changes was nice. I like everything about this game, but HCTP had a few upgrades.
I also remember how Eddie's promo on the Rock was in the game. You know the one where his daughter liked the Rock, and Eddie ripped up her poster and screamed at her. It was hilarious.
