In the sense of becoming a big deal, fairly quickly? Granted, right now GFW as far as I've seen is still pretty much vaporware, but I still get the vibe sometimes that it's because Double J is taking the time to set it up properly this time, what with preemptively aligning with NJPW and what not. This would be what, his third promotion started by now? Ignoring the fact that Ring Ka King was basically TNA in a sari and dancing, that was still mostly a Jeff Jarrett project and it sounds like the decision to end that was more on the TV network than anything on the show's end.
I just want to think that JJ is biding his time and building this up or waiting for TNA to completely die, because it sure seems like the pieces are falling into place. But who's to say.

After how f***ed he got on PPVs in early TNA, which went a long way towards building to Dixie era TNA, I would appreciate if he took his time and got all of his ducks in a row.

I feel like we have to see what it is and what it looks like before we can say anything.
I remember Wrestling Society X getting a lot of buzz when it was being built. Then it aired.

I think the Wrestle Kingdom PPV in combination with NJPW getting a show on AXS will lead to NJPW airing its own PPVs in the future, rather than helping GFW get off the ground the way Jarrett would probably hope it will. They still have yet to even schedule any shows of their own. I see Lucha Underground being a larger contributor to the wrestling scene over the next 12 months.

No. I expect it to do absolutely dick.
I hope it does better. I would love it to surpass TNA. I'd love it to reignite the whole business. Hell, as a minimum I'd like it to at least because something on the level of ECW, where it's a distant third biggest but still notable, compelling and influential.
But if I expect the worst, then if good things happen that's just a bonus, and I'd rather not get my hopes up in wrestling because it so often doesn't pay off...

Since there are already several companies actually running shows that are notable, compelling and influential, until GFW actually runs a show, they don't actually exist. What exists is NJPW running their usual Tokyo Dome show, and they are allowing GFW to ride their coattails in order to air it in the United States.

At this point, I'm still not convinced it'll actually even exist as a real thing.

They should just piggyback on other shows rather than create their own show.

It will definitely catch me off guard if they ever actually have a show.

not feel. but hope.
considering the controversies surrounding Punk and Del Rio's general welfare and their overall product in recent years, i hope there's someone to push Vince through

I hope it does well and is a good product. I don't have this high hope it will ever going head to head with the WWE like many want too see. To me the head to head with the WWE at this point isn't the best idea. You be better to just focus on being a successful company.
Until they run there own shows, announce a roster, and get a TV deal how much can I say about them? In theory they CAN be good but they can also flop. There best thing they could do I think if they take off is over take TNA or become a legit Number 2. They have to do more then just co sign with NJPW biggest show while it will be cool too see it. It needs to have more.
