Yep. Pretty much. It's not like they're going to try and do anything with the tag teams. Wait, wait, wait. When did the Internet stop liking Xavier Woods? Explain yourselves! When he dropped the nerdy pop-culture stuff from his gimmick. Well, that wasn't his fault, but I get it. Without that he's just kind of...a dude.

The issue isn't the gimmick itself, its the entire context of right now. Racial tensions are at a pretty high level, one of your former world champs got fired because of retaliation against a known racist who wasn't smart enough to keep his mouth shut, fans start asking about why blacks are so underrepresented in the higher card of the WWE, and they decide to do another stereotype gimmick? Either Vince literally lives in a bubble, or is too arrogant to care.

My god people they have been on tv one time...... ...not including those various vignettes of each New Day member singing in front of a gospel choir?

Again...
If you had more black people on the card actually doing shit that matters... If I figured they were going to go somewhere with this gimmick...
I couldn't get through the whole video either. It didn't take me very long to figure out I didn't want to watch that shit, but I don't know how seriously anyone would take that coming from me.
It's not like I'm always watching Raw or SD in the first place.

I hate the colour scheme on their attire especially on Big E but you know what f*** it! I want them to become the bizzaro Shield. Make them the most dominant yet most postive friendly babyface 3 man stable in WWE History. Make them so dominant they dominate the returning Shield. And I'm actually being serious. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E could probably have great amazing six man tag team matches especially if they have chemistry with each other.

For some reason, when you say "Bizarro Shield", I imagine them doing things like the Shield, but utterly failing at it, like how Kofi utterly failed at making the save for faces.

It's a new day for Seagulls in the WWE Universe, it seems.

It's a new day for Seagulls in the WWE Universe, it seems. Damn yes. Worst piping in of fake fan pops ever.

So the New Day is Xavier, Big E, and Kofi all in blue tights, clapping? Ok.

They got huge pops. Sure they were piped in, but they were huge pops.

The vignettes reminded me of a Madea movie, Tyler Perry Presents: The New Day.
It really just seems like they threw them together because they didn't want to release them yet. If WWE had a midcard worth anything, there might be some interest in it, but it's a foregone conclusion that these guys aren't going anywhere.

After CM Punks interview, Kofi's going to be happy he still has a job, so I doubt he's complaining.

After CM Punks interview, Kofi's going to be happy he still has a job, so I doubt he's complaining. If anything if they released him over that he'd probably be downright giddy for the money he's about to make off his wrongful termination suit in response. Anyway, yeah. I don't have any pre-main roster exposure to Xavier outside of a TNA match or two, but he just does absolutely nothing for me. There's just something about him that's inherently unlikable, I just find him irritating no matter what he's doing. That'd probably extend to that 90s gimmick too honestly because every time I've heard that brought up I've just thought it sounded dumb and directionless. Really, the only time I can ever recall Xavier entertaining me in any context is when he spent twenty minutes charging up a clothesline.

I watched three friends come out dressed as a team, performing together with really nice chemistry and appearing relevant again. So I want to continue to watch them. I would like to think that was the key objective for Big E, Woods and Kofi.
I guess I completely missed the memo that The New Day is supposed to be racist or somehow offensive. I can only imagine that black people are extremely offended by that notion.

And Xavier doesn't really have any type of intangibles to compensate for being "just a dude". At least Kofi is a high flier and Big E has his power, but Xavier...yeahhhhhhhh....
