Man, I think I joked about everyone turning against Ryback, a "Rybacklash" if you will, after the Punk-cast, but it's actually happened. Oy vey. Everybody loved the da big guy during the Rybaxel run, now he's got the same gimmick, but as a face, but Punk's said he's a moron etc and we're hating him now? I'm really tired of posts like this. People were saying a similar thing in the Roman Reigns thread. NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE THE SAME THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS. ONE GUY SAYING SOMETHING DOES NOT EQUATE THE WHOLE BOARD SAYING IT. This is very common when it comes to Ryback and Reigns. I did not love them! I have never loved them! I think they're both goofs, Ryback moreso because he's a clumsy oaf.

I think Ryback is good, there's just some matches that just don't work for him.

I'll be honest, I don't really care if Ryback is a good wrestler or not. I love the goofy bastard and he has my attention and inner mark with him every time he's in the ring.

Ryback entertains me. I don't care how he is in the ring. Show me anyone else that's goofy enough to go to a drive-through with his own damn theme playing just to order a coffee and I'll love them too. Ryback doesn't appear to have a stick up his arse the same way Punk does.

He is clumsy, and not all that great in ring, careless at times, and a bit of a liability. I like him anyway. And to his credit, he really is trying. If you have watched his matches lately he has more moves in his repertoire that Cena does. They all look janky, but he does them.
Oh, and most of what Punk said was true. You don't need to take his side to have the same opinion.

He's like 290lbs and he looks like he can rip you're head off in an instant. Guys like his size shouldn't be worried about being a technician they need to be explosive in the ring.
It's like with Reigns, they are trying to sell us that he is just as big as Ryback but he isn't he's as big as Ambrose and Rollins and yet Reigns is limited. Certain guys don't need to be technicians and others do.

Not to complicate the black and white picture you're painting by adding a bit of color, but some of us (myself included) loved him in Rybaxel because he had good chemistry with McGillicurtis and being in a team was a good way to cover/compensate for his weaknesses. We enjoy him less as a singles babyface because we think he was in a better niche before, and his current role exposes his limitations — not because Punk Almighty spoke ill of him. Love him, hate him or something in between, the Warrior comparisons are apt. He's a charismatic muscle machine who comes across like a million bucks in squash matches, but unless he's in there with a real ring general, he's not going to set the world on fire in competitive singles matches where both guys need to come out looking good. Also like Warrior, we've got numerous stories of him stiffing guys or being overly CARELESS!~ with his moves.

I said this before in the AoW Punk thread and I'll say it here:
I don't care what Punk said about him, I thought Ryback was terrible long, long ago. I think his promos and matches suck. I think comparing him to the Ultimate Warrior is an extreme insult to the career and memory of the Ultimate Warrior.
But he's got such muscles, so f*** it, push him to the moon.

Punk's tirade hasn't changed my view at all. I was also impressed with his dignified response to Punk.

Ive just finished watched Raw (well highlights anyway) and was wondering what Ryback was planning with tht table spot at the end? He put the table in front of him, and then went for shellshocked on Harper. But, he would not have been able to do that through a table that is in front of him

He's pretty limited, and with the way talents get very overexposed these days, I don't see his act having much shelf-life. He does have a good persona, but maximizing that is up to the writers and bookers. These days, the surest bet is to kill it in the ring and get the crowd behind you on a visceral level.

Don't you turn you back on the Ryback, you might end up in a body bag.

If you start to watch a Ryback match expecting Bryan vs Rollins, you're in for a bad time. If you start to watch a Ryback match expecting big moves that look like they'd kill you and lots of catchphrases, then you'll be fine.
