Watching it again on Netflix, I never knew just how much those two mumbling for an hour is distracting to me now. I just want to say, 'will one of you speak up, goddammit?'

You should watch the COPS episode. Trust me, Scully raises her voice there.

A lot of TV shows and films are unwatchable for me because of mumbled dialogue. Daniel Craig in particular is the worst offender.

What I dislike about the show is Mulder comes up with some bizarre theory and was right 100% of the time no matter how crazy it was. I loved the show when it was on and it has some episodes that are as good as tv gets but it has lot of terrible to middling episodes too.

They should do a spin off called The X-plained Files where Mulder comes up with various theories relating to aliens and cover ups, which by the end of the episode are all revealed to have perfectly reasonable explanations.

I think its just strange to compare it to most shows now where everyone is YELLING ALL THE TIME or over selling every line so that even the most obtuse viewer gets it.

Yeah, no matter how many times he was right in the past, there was always this exchange: Mulder: "Scully, I think this man was killed by a vampire leprechaun" Scully: "Mulder, this is clearly the result of a heart attack..."

I didn't know this was on Netflix (haven't used my account in months)... I'll have to watch a few episodes and see if I still like it as much as I did as a kid.
