"Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" debuted December 17th, 1989 Yes, I know the Simpsons is older than 25, but if if we count only the series, then this is indeed its 25th B-Day

Despite the decline in quality over the last decade.. It is still in my own opinion the greatest animated TV show of all time.

Here is a funny thing..
When the TV show first started I was the same age as Bart in the show... Today I'm the same age as Homer was when the show started (they have revised his age since then).

I believe the show has what is normally known as Schultzitis, or Peanuts Syndrome. It is a condition where none of the main characters in a series ever seem to age, despite the world and society changing around them. Although it rarely allows for new characters to show up, it allows the series to remain with the status quo that it is well known for, thus keeping it popular for numerous years. Besides the series for which it is named after, other well known series with Peanuts Syndrome include Family Guy, Garfield, Blondie, as well as many others. Now where's my damn Nobel Prize for Science?!!

Greatest television series of all time imo.
No other series has come close to producing the amount of quality episodes The Simpsons did at it's peak.

On a sort of related note the unofficial online database of Simpsons infomation and trivia SNPP.com appears to be down and no one knows why.
