It's kind of absurd that this film gets all the terror threats, while Team America, made 10 years ago, didn't harbor similar feelings. And that film had Americans blowing up North Koreans, who were the villains of the film. Team America was outwardly satirical of American interventionism. Yes, the North Koreans were "antagonists" but the premise of the movie wasn't about doing an assassination. Also, pre-rise of social media and all that. I think another thing we have to take into account is that North Korea simply didn't have the technological capabilities to do this back then (assuming they even did it this time around). The funniest thing about all this is, by all accounts, that movie was hot-ass garbage. If they'd have simply let the movie be released as planned, it probably would've flopped at the box office anyway. I guarantee you, in the long run, when Sony releases this movie a few months down the line (and they WILL release this movie a few months down the line), they're gonna make bank off of all the "controversy", or as they call it in Hollywood, "free advertising".

Kim Jong-il never publicly commented on his portrayal in Team America and the worst they did was to try and pressure the Czech Republic into not showing it.
Seeing his sons reaction to The Interview...well...someone is a little bitch. He also probably has a small penis.

It looks as if Sony has to hope for a Annie Christmas miracle now. I have seen nothing but negative reviews of Annie... so good luck with that.

Even Saddam Hussein, monster he was, had a better sense of humor with how he was being parodied in films like Hot Shots Part Deux and South park

As long as Peanuts and SPECTRE are still coming out later next year. If not, someone's gonna pay. I think they're safe, after the critical disaster that was Die Another Day Bond won't be going back to North Korea anytime soon, and the Red Baron is still the only red menace Snoopy will go toe to toe with. Funnily enough, Die Another Day was sympathetic to a certain extent towards North Korea. The general was depicted as being rather reasonable. He wanted to avoid war, condemned the torture of Bond, said that western spying only helped the hardcore totalitarians in North Korea, and ultimately was killed by his insane son while trying to stop his evil plans.

They might as well just play the Care Bears movie in those theaters.

Maybe they should show this movie instead: www.imdb.com/title/tt0089851/combinedTrivia from imdb: Although the film is a North Korean production, director Sang-ok Shin is South Korean. North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il was a huge fan of Shin's, and since North and South Korea have technically been at war since 1951 and have no diplomatic relations, Kim had him kidnapped. Shin eventually escaped back to South Korea, but not before he had been forced to make this movie for the erratic North Korean leader.

They'll send it straight to Blu Ray and promote it as "The Movie North Korea Didn't Want You To See!!!"

But don't worry, the next movie telling Americans how much their culture sucks and how much their history is evil racist sexist dung will be in theaters right on time! And most likely, the people threatening to blow up Hollywood because of THE INTERVIEW and a 10 year old puppet movie will be happily enjoying them in the seats next to you. *eternal facepalms*

Ok... is there any movie we can have a national solidarity moment with? The level of impotent rage is reaching a boiling point.

I'd be very surprised if North Korea are behind this. I'm sure they've got better things to oppress, and bigger fish to kill. It sounds more like someone pissed off at Sony specifically.
