Looking back while most PPVs this year have been bad, the main events largely haven't been. I can't speak for TLC since I've not seen it, but the only ones I would say were bad matches were the Rumble by its standards though it was still fun, Bryan / Kane, Money in the Bank, and Cena / Lesnar at Night of Champions. Outside of that, good stuff. Even that four way was decent though on paper it sure doesn't sound like it.
I think I have to put my vote to the Mania main event though. Outright fantastic match that really did everything it should have, and the only one I can see that compares to it's the SummerSlam main event and it runs more on novelty that's since been pissed away than it does actual match quality though in its own right it is still pretty damn fun to rewatch.
Semi-related, for those keeping score (and ignoring the Rumble), the count of everyone's main event spots this year...
John Cena: 6 Kane: 4 Randy Orton: 4 Daniel Bryan: 3 Dean Ambrose: 3 Seth Rollins: 3 Batista: 2 Bray Wyatt: 2 Brock Lesnar: 2 Cesaro: 2 Roman Reigns: 2 Sheamus: 2 Alberto del Rio: 1 Big Show: 1 Christian: 1 Dolph Ziggler: 1 Erick Rowan: 1 Luke Harper: 1 Mark Henry: 1 Rusev: 1 Ryback: 1 Triple H: 1

Mania will run away with this, but I voted for Shield/Evolution at Payback. Huge fun, Shield went over big time and I was really into it.

Haha at Kane being in a third of the year's main events. I will just try and rank them...
1. Bryan/Orton/Batista 2. Team Cena/Team Authority 3. Elimination Chamber 4. Evolution/Shield 5. Brock/Cena Summerslam 6. Rollins/Ambrose HIAC 7. Ambrose/Bray 8. Brock/Cena Night of Champions 9. Money in the Bank 10. Kane/Bryan 11. Royal Rumble 12. Fatal fourway

I liked that one a lot when I saw it (which was a few weeks later) but I did kind of have the issue where knowing where it was going Evolution came off like utter morons when they had Reigns alone and were just torturing him. Hindsight and such but it did kind of impact the match for me.

The Shield v. Evolution @ Payback was tremendous but I enjoyed watching Lesnar murder Cena way too much not to vote for it.

For me, it's Shield vs. Evolution at Payback. It's one of those things where everything from start to finish is perfect. Hell, the best part of the match is after the match is over. All the Shield guys are laid out in the ring after a hard fought victory, and Reigns and Rollins reach for one another and clasp hands. It just epitomized The Shield. What a way for the group to go out.
