you know another one to consider, the RPG Maker series, you can make your own damn RPG, how cool is that?

you know another one to consider, the RPG Maker series, you can make your own damn RPG, how cool is that? I still occcasionally play an old PC game that I have. It is an AD&D game called Forgotten Realms: Unlimited Adventures. You control a party. It has a fun game that comes with the game, but the real treasure that is in the game is the ability to create your own game that you can share online. That is really cool, and there are still people that make games for it a decade later.

I love Final Fantasy, but I got so much sheer enjoyment out of KOTOR.

The Final Fantasy Series (well, except for 1,2,5,8 and 11) had to be it for me, with Chrono Trigger right there in 2nd place.

Morrowind is probably the greatest RPG I've ever played, although I bet Oblivion is probably the greatest RPG that currently exists.
One RPG I enjoyed that wasn't mentioned is the late 1990s Fallout series... a surprisingly good turn-based RPG set in a Mad Max type post apocalypse.
I did wonder if anyone could tell me about another unmentioned RPG, X-Men Legends II. While most people loved the first one, I was not a fan of the leveling system. There was an experience cap, and I didn't like the fact that I couldn't max out all stats... it was like you had to choose to upgrade one or the other. I'm just too used to games like Morrowind, where you can eventually max out a character. Did X-Men II change in this regard?

Secret of Mana is the greatest game ever. I might go hook my old SNES up now just to play it.

Phantasy Star IV. All of you FF7 zombies had better recognize. They stole the vast majority of their crappy story from this vastly superior game.
Valkyrie Profile is a close second. It's got the greatest soundtrack ever and an incredibly fun battle system. You eye-candy cutscene and emo cosplay nerds out there won't like it much, though.

Final Fantasy VI
I chose other though because I haven't really liked any of the other ones, but part 6 was just so amazing to me... I wish they'd remake this...
