That Warrior/Connor induction was one of those things that was both absolutely heartbreaking and a little uncomfortable. It felt weird to hear those who lost so much give speeches that almost felt like WWE-scripted stuff. Maybe I'm looking into it too much.
For me, add in Lesnar breaking the Streak, it's made 30 unwatchable. It's just too sad, knowing Warrior will be gone in 48 hours, Conner in less than 30 days.
My take on the Hall... I understand why it was booked this way, but dammit, Savage should have closed. Then again, Savage should also have been there. Anyone know why his wife wasn't in the audience at least?
Rikishi was what it was, a fun, if a bit lengthy look back at a good character from the Attitude Era. Very talented big man too.
Larry was rough, great old schoolers between ip him and Bruno, but you could tell the evening got to Larry. Very glad he got the moment, but I think getting inducted by Bruno overwhelmed him and all he could focus on was how he started, in Bruno's Hedges. Too bad.
Madusa... She actually choked me up with her husband and her respect for active duty soldiers. That's the only thing I can touch on that no one else has. Best Diva induction of all time? Maybe.
Conner... the feels. Between Dana, Bryan, his dad, his brother... So much stolen so soon.
Bushwhackers... I'm old enough to remember them from the WWE run and what a fun comedy act they were for the kids. Shocked me a bit as I was unaware of Butch's Ill health, but so happy they got up there, had their fun and their moment.
Tatsumi Fujinami... What makes me mad about these international introductions is with this wealth of material in a Network setting and they don't bother to put up material featuring these guys ahead of the induction so we can appreciate it. All there is is the SuperBrawl match between him and Flair. And that's too bad really.
Savage... the greatest. Forget placement, he's the headliner. Doesn't matter if you think Hogan was conning or not, I think he meant that he missed the guy he made magic with. Lannys speech was short and on point. Now go wTch the millions of Savage moments out there now on the network and DVD and celebrate the man.
Ah-nuld... I was worried here only because he is NOT popular politically in northern CA, but they got over it and gave him a moment in the sun. Still not seeing T5.
Nash... I'm almost sorry he didn't have more time, the shooting would have been glorious. And I know people are drawing comparisons between Reigns and Nash already, but let's see what happens later before we pass judgment. We may yet be surprised.
For my part, great show and made me all the more determined to be there in person whenever Taker goes in, maybe next year in Dallas. No screaming, no chanting, just stand and applaude for The Man.
