What do ya'll cats think? Is the viewing audience so conditioned to "talky-talky" segments opening up Raw that a match would cause people to tune out or would it be a smart move in the long run?
I say yes. If nothing else, it would break up the monotony of Raw a bit.

It cannot possibly do any more harm than the weekly, "I am the game!" (x100) promo does.

Yes and stop the promo of four/six guys getting individual entrances then an impromptu tag is made. It is such a meme that Lawler and JBL always mention Teddy Long. Stop making your own show an intentional joke.

Looking at the Raw ratings for this week, I feel like it couldn't hurt to switch things up once in a while.

It'd be such a sudden change of pace that I'd spend the whole match wondering where the microphone's hiding at first.

In another attempt to spice things up, next week we'll have The Usos vs. Gold and Stardust!

I'd rather Raw start with an actual opening instead of a cold opening.

Yeah why not. Hell I'd even open Raw with a match for a midcard title.

It could work. Opening with a promo made more sense on 2 hour shows, in that you had a limited time to get people hyped for the main event, the big announcement, etc. 3 Hours, it may be excessive to expect them to need THAT long.

Opening talky bits need to be shaved down a ton, especially the Open Mic Night variety where everyone shows up one after the other. They're boring as hell.

I really liked when RAW opened with Evan Bourne and Edge fighting it out in 2010.
It was unexpected and great.

But how are people going to know they're watching a wrestling program if it opens with wrestling? That'd confuse everyone involved.
If it doesn't open with a heel in ring promo, they're going to think it's some recap or "best of" video.

YES, anything, as much as "Bow down to the King!" is a badass song I'd like to focus on the actual WRESTLING just a tad more
You have a Three Hour Show, where you talk for the opening 20, way to keep everyone interested weekly...

A wrestling show opening with some wrestling? The hell?
Yep.

Sure why not, but I'd be lying if I said I'd probably be bored if it happened more than once in a blue moon since it doesn't really set up the rest of the show in any way

Be prepared for more 20 minute promos since HHH and Steph are back.
