Both returning from a bad injury, both returning to be in the Royal Rumble match, and both are by far the heavy favorite to win it. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

I had to read the thread title a few times to comprehend it, becuase Daniel Bryan and Triple H being alike in anyway, besides both being pro wrestlers, is somewhat of a mindblowing concept.

Not really, because Bryan isn't actually the heavy favourite to win it. Reigns still is, apparently "because WWE".

Most users here felt that since the Summer when word came out that Bryan was feeling strength in his arm and that he would be ready by December. But WWE stubbornness will piss it all away anyway.

There are certainly parallels, even if Roman is held to be a likely winner by a number of people. I think Daniel Bryan is still the likely winner, though.

I would if Bryan was loved as much by the brass as Triple H was then. He was their guy since most of their top talent was switching lanes. Bryan is loved by those in the back but not like Reigns. Not one bit.
I wish Bryan won but f***, the office thinks of Reigns as god's gift to wrestling.

Absolutely not. When Triple H returned from his life-threatening injury, it was the loudest crowd ovation ever heard, apparently.
In fact, I'm pretty sure people died that night. DB simply can't compete.

Honestly- I'll go there for the Hot Take: I'm getting more 2014 Batista vibes from Daniel Bryan right now (he returned with only a little fanfare beforehand. He doesn't really fit in the current storylines that much. You can make "a" reason for him to fight in the main event for the World Title, but it doesn't REALLY fit the current narrative as well as someone else does- but it doesn't matter because one side will not LET that narrative come to pass because they just decided "screw the narrative, we want THIS GUY to win and so he WILL WIN!"

I don't really see it on either side. Bryan was a surprise return, Batista was hyped for about a solid month in advance. Bryan / Orton had already been going on for months, the only thing Lesnar is up to is feuding with Cena and any opponent you put up against him right now would feel as out of place as any other. Except Bryan, whose narrative makes perfect sense - Lesnar's working on behalf of the people who screwed him over repeatedly and injured him, and the two of them were the stars of Mania 30 who both had career-defining moments there. That's a pretty easy narrative for a Bryan / Lesnar feud but nobody else - Reigns, Ambrose, Ziggler, Diego, El Torito, Cesaro, whoever - has anything lined up that'd make a Brock feud have a story outside of, "I won the Rumble, I want my title shot, RAR BROCK SMASH."

I really don't see how there's no current narrative for Bryan, he never lost the title and is returning to win it back, simple. I also don't see anyone else who would fit to face Lesnar other than Cena and that's not happening at Mania (thankfully).

Not really.
For one thing, Bryan doesn't look like Roidy Magoo.

Don't guys come back from injury quite often? The link seems reasonably tenuous. Other than he's also married to someone I don't want to see on my TV screen. Actually, yeah I get it now....

There were more links between Triple H in 2002 and Edge in 2010. Both left as heels and returned as faces. Both won their Rumbles in Atlanta, both were wrestling Chris Jericho when they got injured, both faced world champion Chris Jericho at their WrestleMania.
