That is pretty much the reason why I've not bought any Bullet Club stuff. I cant help but think people would mistake what the shirt is about and branding me as something I'm not

I generally have a "Yeah, f*** what other people think attitude" but if I lived in an area that just had a shooting or something, I'd be more sensitive about it. I'm definitely gonna get Omega's other shirt. {Spoiler}

Finally got the chance to sit down and watch it. I've been a lurker in Japanese wrestling for years, mostly dipping my toe into the occasional Kobashi match (Kobashi vs Sasaki is still my favourite match of all time) and checking out the Tanahashi-Okada feud after hearing so many good things. So this was the first full NJPW event I'd ever seen and it was fantastic. I loved the storytelling in the ring and the English commentary did make it a slightly easier watch. Although now I think I'd be more comfortable watching it in Japanese as after one event I feel I have a good understanding of the wrestlers, their characters and their feuds. And that for more is huge praise.
And yeah, save me a place on the 'NAKAMURA IS THE GODDAMN MAN' bandwagon. Seriously, the guys just ridiculous.

I own the black King of Strong Style shirt and I've been considering picking up the red one too. I also want to buy every Goto shirt. I'm just bummed that it'd put me out like a hundred bucks for four shirts when they're not particularly high quality. They're printed on the same shirt my school used for PE class, man.

Bought the show following the NJPW on AXS show. Caught the end of the IC Title match and loved it as well as the entire IWGP Title match and it was alright, would have rather seen Okada win. Striker was alright in those two, a little cutesy with the verbiage but alright. JR was as I expected, which was piss poor.
Cannot wait to sit down Sunday and watch the whole thing.

You really thought JR was piss poor? I don't want to challenge your opinion, but I think he did just fine considering it was his first show with them, it was a new product for him to commentate, jet lag, and him obviously not being what he used to be. I feel he'll get better at it as he does more shows with them. He wasn't lost and he called things just fine. For me, anyway.

He sounded the exact same way he has for the last 6 years or so, completely lost. This isn't new. He has never had a shortage of time to get ready but constantly sounds lost going back to his last WWE run and covers for it things the same way. In the little I saw of Ibushi and Nakamura both were called kid at least a dozen times with both having a great future, that is poor. Striker would make a point about how bad a move hurt and JR'd just repeat it twice. I hate sounding like an ass but his work drives me insane and the constant praise makes it stick out more.

JR was very subdued for AJ Styles-Naito match which was surprising considering JR said he was very excited to call his match for the first time.

I agree, plus Im not expecting him to be the JR of the 80s and 90s anymore, I know he's gonna be slower now and not as up to date on certain things but he's still my favourite ever to listen to on commentary and Id still prefer listening to him over pretty much anyone. Also he said himself that he wasnt particularly happy with his performance at the start of the show but improved as the night went on.

Right now JR, even in his diminished state is my second favorite wrestling announcer behind only Mauro Ranallo---an opinion formed after only hearing Mauro on the most recent AXS show.
One thing that bugged me about Ross and Stryker at WK9, while overall I really dug them both (moreso Ross) was how they kept referring to "this business" and "this genre".... Look, I am completely okay with people using these terms in the context of twitter, message boards, outside media appearences etc.... but during the course of the actual wrestling event, I don't want to hear about how wrestling is a business (although that's not as bad) or a genre etc... I just want it to be a sporting event. Or if it's a more sports entertainment style product like Lucha Underground, which is more like a TV show, I still don't want to hear those insidery terms, just let me get lost in the moment like I would during a good Kung Fu movie or something. My biggest pet peeve announcing wise, is them unintentionally breaking the 4th wall with stuff like that. Again, just my little nit pick there.
