You're giving WWE Creative way more credit than they deserve. Not everything is a work.

Nope; wrestlers have flat out said that going with Batista was originally the legitimate plan.

No, it wasn't planned. If Batista didn't already have a heel persona that they could easily go back to and if HHH, Batista, and Randy Orton didn't already have history together, the entire thing would've been an even worse disaster. They were extremely lucky to have it all work out.

Nope; wrestlers have flat out said that going with Batista was originally the legitimate plan. Of course those carnies would say that.

Are you saying WWE Creative is smart and knows what they're doing? I can assure you...they're not & they don't.
Yes they are, and it only looks like they don't know what they're doing because they have to work for an old man with the worse case of ADD.

Like I always say they're not going deliberately weaken their position when it comes to negotiating a new TV deal, undermine their new network, put on PPVs so bad that fans demand refunds* and damage the prestige of important permanent cornerstones of the company like a world title unification and the Royal Rumble match just to put over a temporary angle.
That's before the collateral damage to Batista (although that worked out), The Wyatt Family, The Big Show, Kane, Orton, Cena, Sheamus, Del Rio and Rey plus the part it played in CM Punk walking out.
If it was deliberate they're even more stupid than I thought.
*Well unless you get into conspiracy theory of them doing it to harm PPV providers due to network shenanigans.

They certainly knew what was going on, but they tried their hardest to get the fans off Bryan. When they realized they had no other choice, plans were changed.

f***ing shitting hell no. Bryan would've been a mid card by November 13 if he wasn't popular. You think the same retards who gave us the last half year could think all of that.

Nah, I don't think it was a work. I think they simply deemed the benefits of a face Batista being WWE Champion while promoting GotG to be some promotion that would not be worth missing out on, considering it was one of the biggest hits of the summer. Bryan was so over and they would have given him the title before long, but when it got to the point that their big show could be hijacked, the potential embarrassment trumped cross-promotion benefits so they brought his win forward.
