i remember in the buildup to WM with Michaels and Austin. Someone threw a battery and it hit Shawn. Causing him to storm out. There was also a time during a Hell in a Cell match with I wanna say Austin and HHH. As the cage was lifting, someone threw a can (pop/beer) It hit Austin in the top of the head and he spazed out.

Now I'm picturing someone just chucking a huge car battery at Shawn and it's hilarious.

It happened quite a few times in WCW, That's an understatement. From mid-1996 through most of 1997, trash was a staple of WCW events. I remember one time, when the NWO did their token run-in at the end of Nitro, trash was thrown in immediately like clockwork. It got to the point I started thinking trash was being thrown by plants or something. I forever associate crap being thrown into the ring with them.

In the 90s as a WWF loyal kid I always looked as the trash throwing in WCW as showing their fans up as being a class below "ours". Even though at that point in time the only wrestling show I had ever been at was actually a WCW one here in Dublin in 92 or 93. But there was no garbage thrown then obviously!

I love when fans do this, it helps add to the product. WWE can't do anything if enough fans take part. Bryan is not winning the Rumble btw, he got his moment to shine last mania he is NOT getting it again. It's Roman Reigns time to shine.

It's stupid and reckless to throw stuff in the ring. Never understood the appeal of it either. I'm glad tossers that do it get thrown out of shows.

I went to a WCW show in Newcastle and after the main event Steiner and Medaja (or however it is spelled) got absolutely slaughtered with crap, including a full cup of liquid nailing Steiner, he didn't even look bothered.

I remember reading once that while not ALL trash was thrown by plants, they'd have a plant throw the first piece of garbage into the ring as a way of saying "Hey guys, we want you to trash the ring right now" and let it spiral from there

Now I had to go look up the time Vince was about to fire Austin at Judgment Day 1998 and someone threw a shirt at him and hit him right in the face.

If the gameplay wasn't that crappy I'd play that now just for nostalgia reasons. I retrospect a PS1 wasn't the best choice for playing wrestling games. Smackdown 1 was kinda fun, even if very limited. Smackdown 2 would be really solid if it weren't for the long-ass loading times. Those loading times were sometimes great... If you got the Trish load screen. Otherwise you're staring at Bull Buchanan for ten minutes, and nobody wants that.

I hate that.
Imagine if someone was going to do a high-risk spot and a fan tossed their beer at him? Dude will end up paralyzed.

Naw, that was real idiots who jumped over the guard rails. I remember a Nitro in Birmingham, AL and some dope got in the ring while the NWO was in the ring and Savage and Nash trying to beat the brakes off of dude before security got him out.

I think the crackdown really came (as in, a crowd wouldn't do it or support it) after 9/11. There were tales from the old territories where guys developed sepsis from some of the sharper objects they suffered. Those full drink cups could have contained _anything_, including stuff you wouldn't want to touch, let alone swallow.

It's lame and I hope I never see it again. It's worse as well when it is some half drunk idiot who decides he wants to shower other people in the crowd as well as the ring and the workers in beer so he can get a cheap pop from his mates.

What if everyone trashed the ring but with safe objects?
Like 1500 people throw plush spongebobs

I often wonder if it would be worth ejection to throw a soda at Cena on his way to the ring on live TV.
