I'm looking forward to seeing this when it hits the local second run theater. I really enjoyed The Ten Commandments, and I thought the trailer looked great.

Looks very meh. Maybe it's the fact that the original 10 Commandments was pretty badass due to Yul Brynner, this one just seems like just dull CGI battle scenes. The fact that Ridley Scott directed it doesn't help.

It is very hard to imagine anyone else as Ramses. Exactly, but you know who I would've gotten? The Rock. Hell, if they ever decide to remake Westworld (which I hope they don't), I would get Rock too.

I'm mostly gonna see it cause I enjoyed the tumblr outrage so much. Plus, it looks like a good action flick.

Bronzing an Australian white Joel Edgerton as Ramses pretty much made this a no go for me. The godawful reviews didn't help.

And it would be one thing if the whole cast was white as with Noah and The Passion. I mean, Hollywood gonna Hollywood, what can you do? But to purposely cast white leads and then around and cast dark-skinned people of color as servants and thieves, basically creating an in-universe caste system? No. Just no.

What the hell focus group was Hollywood using that told them "2014 is the year for CG bible epics"?

While I don't agree with the whitewashing, I thought the film was very good.

What the hell focus group was Hollywood using that told them "2014 is the year for CG bible epics"? It's because of how well The Bible miniseries did in 2013, I would imagine.
