Looks like Brass Rings will win the Gooker. Way to destroy the whole point of the site.

Apparently the poll was hacked in favour of the Vince podcast, so incredibly there are dual winners of the Gooker. That being the Bella feud and the brass rings stuff.

I still can't even comprehend how #ItHappens didn't make the final poll.

Christ the shortlist was bad enough and the winners are as well.
I look forward to the completely humourless complaints about the podcast.

God, it's the Royal Rumble '94 all over again. Rubbish during it and then with a terrible dual finish to boot.
I loved Wrestlecrap, and it's what got me to the former home of this forum. But the fun just seemed to go, bitterness and grudges took over from just laughing at the absurdity of it all. 'Brass rings' should never have been within a million miles of this list.
Agreed that the Bella feud is the quintessential kind of thing that the old Wrestlecrap would've gone to town with, like they did that old Al Wilson storyline.

Seriously, stuff like "I WISH YOU DIED IN THE WOMB" and the segments where Nikki talked to the camera about how evil and bad Brie was growing up were the definition of Crap. I guess Wrestlecrap isn't about the fun and crazy absurdness of wrestling anymore. It's morphed into "I didn't like that". That's sad to me.

It should have been between #ithappens, Bella Vs Bella and Sam Shaw.
#ithappens should have won.

I still think the Xavier Woods, R-Truth, Brodus, Tensai and The Funkadactyls angle should have been in it, actually screw that I've changed my mind and now think it should have won.
I mean look at the people involved. R-Truth has been so directionless since the angle that he's resorted to being a D-Von Dudley tribute act. Clay was run out of town. Tensai retired and changed his name out of shame and is now serving penance in NXT. Woods had to be repackaged and as a result is now dragging Kofi and Big E down with him.
That's just the aftermath, the whole mess would have made for a fun write-up

I think part of the problem is that Wrestlecrap really took off due to working partly as a nostalgia website: while they posted inductees from current wrestling companies/angles, there was a ton of stuff to dive back into from the 80s and 90s that, due to the lack of social media, the fans didn't always instantly voice their displeasure with, and companies rode some of those gimmicks way longer than they should have (e.g. most WWF 1995 gimmicks, the Dungeon of Doom, etc.).
That well of content isn't dry, obviously, but they've already covered a ton of that ground, and we all now live in a media landscape where companies like WWE and TNA will do stupid things, but get a reaction from fans so quickly that certain things will seemingly vanish overnight. WWE has spent years being more boring and repetitive than anything else, while TNA is mostly (rightly) bashed for awful business decisions and continuously shooting itself in the foot; this isn't fertile ground for great Wrestlecrappy gimmicks.
Like you guys say, we had a few this year (Bella feud, Rose vs. Bunny, Sam Shaw's storyline falling apart, the debut of the Menagerie), but maybe outside of the Bella feud it's hard to say any of them are big time Gooker winners; they're simply worthy inductees. Wrestling's changed: a lot of the "so stupid you can't help but chuckle" has vanished, and has been replaced by "God, why is WWE doing the same thing AGAIN?!" and "Oh my God, TNA is killing itself." Makes it harder to nominate things, and leads to people just using the Gooker as a chance to complain about backstage things.
