I'm more annoyed that they could have booked an actual interesting angle to force Cena to bring the Authority back down the line but whatever. Right? They could have done something amazing. Like have some group of upstarts run roughshod on Raw. Not cultlike, as Nexus did. But just a group of young up and comers running crazy on Raw. It could start with, oh I dunno, a violent and over the top tag team making a debut and and tearing through the tag division with no concern as to who gets hurt. Then others could start to show up; a high flying type, or maybe a big bruiser....there could be some that would help, like an overseas sensation teaming together or a world traveled warrior champion, but in the end they'd just tear apart the WWE with no concern, no qualms. And in the end, with no one left to turn to, with no one capable of helping him...John Cena is forced to bring The Authority back to try to help bring things in order. But who'd want to see THAT?

I'd have Cena causing Daniel Bryan's elimination at the Rumble, allowing Rollins to win.
Then next night on RAW, Cena shows up smiling and says "oh I get it....you thought I didn't want to bring back the Authority, right? HAHAHA, you stupid fools....I was always in cahoots with them"
It would break the internet, but of course, Cena is never allowed to change, ever.

If Cena had died between Survivor Series and now would that have given HHH and Stephanie carte Blanche to walk back in and take over? No, Vince said that only Cena could bring the Authority back. So if Cena had died between the end of Survivor Series and the end of last week, the Authority could never have come back. So what should have happened is either a month of HHH and Stephanie, possibly in disguise, constantly saving Cena from a bunch of accidental near deaths, or all of Team Cena trying to talk Cena into offing himself in order to permanently banish The Authority. At which point, the Authority would splice together a ton of previous interviews of Cena, in a way which would suggest that he was bringing them back. It'd be in a special "Cena's Will" RAW special, or something.

It really doesn't make much sense beyond giving Cena a storyline. I guess you could argue Vince gave Cena the ability to bring them back to test Cena's resolve, or to test what lengths the Authority would go to to try and force themselves back into power (knowing that Cena would be the toughest guy for them to break).

Yeah, but making this thread got me all the info I needed in a matter of minutes with no deadwood. If FAN was WWE Magic knows Black Lives Matter would have re-posted his post five times. And that's just tonight! You are not the only person that mentions stuff like this despite the WWE bludgeoning them over the head with it. It happens on this board A LOT. Furthermore, people were calling their cable companies trying to figure out how to get the WWE Network despite them having Cole spend like 5 minute chunks of times explaining how to get it in detail. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Stop. Say what you want about me not paying attention. Point out that I've missed a show or two and didn't recap. That's all fair. But... But justifying the Network shilling? That's so...cold hearted. What did the WWE Universe ever do to you...?

Only Ziggler is really the sympathetic character here. I wouldn't lose much sleep over Ryback and Rowan being fired. It would have been more effective if the Authority targeted Ziggler alone. Blaming Cena for his dismissal. Ryback should have been excluded from this Authority bullshit entirely and been left to continue his feud with Rusev, and Rowan is so inconsequential, it's comical for WWE to think that firing him would even make the slightest difference.

I'm almost surprised they didn't just frog march Cena Sr. out there and have him say it, and Vince consider it valid, because, well, "John Cena" did say it.

I'd have done it where Ziggler wins the Rumble, then Cena brings the Authority back to help him beat Lesnar, effectively selling out the company for his own ends and rendering Dolph's hard work meaningless.

I'd like to know why it wasn't Ziggler's when he won the damn thing and Cena did jack-all, but whatever. The same reason why in a multi-man tag, withe Cena only hot tagging in after his teammates carry the match for 15 minutes, does the 5 moves, and celebrates with arms up and music playing, whether he got the pin or not. It's because
