Never happening. A lot of the roster Tanahashi and Okada in particular can't work a full time schedule. The absence of ANY perspective of new New Japan fans has been the most annoying thing in the post-Wrestle Kingdom. I get people being exuberant about a new product but you have people comparing New Japan's Wrestlemania to WWE Raw. Still doesn't make the thread silly. It shows how desperate wrestling fans are for an alternative. I'm honest when I chose it because I have Raw/WWE burnout and New Japan guys have shown up at shows at BCW, my local Indy so I've become more familiar with their product lately. It's cool to see they are alive and well since they dipped to under 20000 fans for Wrestle Kingdom but are back to above 40000. It does. As it is entirely impractical and nonsensical. It would the current New Japan product and how it does business. No Network would go head to head with Raw with a Wrestling show. It is suicide. People are operating based on this bizarre version of New Japan that doesn't exist based on thinking the product year round touches WrestleKingdom. It doesn't. Please step into real world.

I knew no matter how painstakingly obvious I tried to make it that this was strictly a hypothetical idea to GAUGE interest among FAN readers someone would still come along with their pointy hat to remind me how unrealistic my unrealistic scenario was. And for that I thank you.

New Japan if they had more American wrestlers and if JR would be on commentary. AJ Styles Adam Cole Alex Shelley Karl Anderson Doc Gallows Kyle O'Reilly Kenny Omega Shelton Benjamin Jeff Jarrett Chase Owens Davey Boy Smith Jr Bobby Fish Michael Bennett Matt Jackson Vance Archer Rob Conway Not sure if all of these guys are american but that's a decent amount for a foreign promotion. Especially when you compare it to WWE who have 1 Japanese guy who's not on the main roster and no hispanic guys that aren't complete jokes. Not really the cream of the cream but that's not a bad roster. Would depend of what they do with these guys.

NJPW. I don't even need to watch Raw to know what's going to happen. Authority screwjobs, run in dq's, Super Cena, flying Usos Maggle! nonsensical heatless Bray promos, Ambrose will make stupid faces, Reigns will try too hard to be cool, the good workers will be made to look like jokes, the commentary will be lifeless corporate shilling, Rollins will give a HHH'esque heel promo that drones on forever, horrible dated comedy with little people, etc. Pretty much. I haven't watched Raw in like a year and only watch the ppvs. I never seem to be out of the loop with anything, and I'm pretty sure I haven't missed any stellar matches that had people raving.

New Japan, they regularly put on a quality product.
Raw is 3 hours of mixed vomit, shit and garbage.

Shit, they could have a Japanese only taped show from 2003 and I'd watch it over Raw.

I love professional wrestling, so I'd watch NJPW.

New Japan, they regularly put on a quality product. Raw is 3 hours of mixed vomit, shit and garbage. Apples and oranges. New Japan is a privately owned, part time touring promotion with most of their revenue being derived from presenting shows. They have a show that airs in their home country a 2am. For the longest time was a half hour slot it is now one hour. WWE is a publicly owned promotion with most of their money coming from TV rights fees. They also have numerous other evolved revenue streams. They have shows on Prime Time television that are multiple hours long each week 52 weeks a year.

A better question would be would you watch either NXT vs an hour version of New Japan? Last month's hot chick vs this month's.

New Japan is pro wrestling, WWE is a circus. Easy choice.
