On Dan's show Friday was talking about how many players from the U are expected to get drafted. The scouts are saying the talent is there but the coaching is the problem. Golden doesn't have a chance to survive Whereas if you look at Texas, even as an Oklahoma fan I can see, the talent isn't there, but the coaching sure as f*** is there to get those kids to play hard. Charlie Strong will have Texas turned around back into a National Title contender within a couple of years, and the Red River Shootout will be between 2 teams at their very best. I want that as an Oklahoma fan. OU has stepped in poo recently but I'm not ready to give up on Bob yet

Hes still winning, but has become dangerously stagnant. If he does not turn it completely around IE making the tourney in the next two seasons he will be all but dead man walking.

Rick Neuheisel leaves Pac-12 Network for CBS Sports. Everytime a PAC 12 coaching job comes up I think of him. That man still has a lot to offer and yet he is in the booth

Golden doesn't have a chance to survive I think he might survive just because it's already obvious the current powers that be aren't that worried about football, otherwise they'd have already made a move. With the NCAA screwing-up on the investigation and letting Miami off the hook there was nothing hanging over their heads, no reason not to make an upgrade after his last season, but they didn't. If he can just get them back above .500 he could stick around.

According to the Clarion Ledger, a mix of 13 NFL and CFL scouts ended the workout for any prospect who did not run at least a 4.50 forty during Jackson State's pro day.
Thanks to James Dator for pointing this story out. "They were cutting people after the 40, so I guess if your time wasn't perfect, they were cutting you," former WR Tobias Singleton said. "I was looking forward to doing everything. I thought it was going to be a regular pro day." Apparently the scouts on hand huddled following the forty yard runs and told the prospects the news. Only one player qualified, West Alabama WR Stephanio McNair. It was 28 degrees. This is incredible laziness displayed by employees of professional teams, and is likely the best example of "just because the NFL does something does not mean it is right."

ESPN Eagles reporter Phil Sheridan believes Georgia RB Todd Gurley could interest Philadelphia if the team doesn't fill LeSean McCoy's absence in free agency.
Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan compared Clemson edge rusher Vic Beasley's combine workout to Mike Mamula's famous showing in 1995.

OU not messing around with their chapter of SAE University actions did not keep them from losing a recruit. I understand the kid but OU did everything they could to prove up front there is zero tolorence for that behavior. They could have sat it out and waited before acting. They didn't. They acted with finality and in a harsh way.

Now this is only what a newspaper said, but if true what happens when Braxton gets shown up (if)? Or barret or the other guy? Won't they all be sort of pissed off at coach for making it seem like he wanted all of them?

Slow news day.
OU received an updated and much slimmed down stadium renovation plan for upgrades to Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium in Norman. They cut almost $200mil from original plans. The new plan will still close in the stadium and create the Bowl style appearence. Unknown how much this will raise capacity. Good for OU for doing any upgrades but at a time when everyone else is going bigger why stop short?

espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12508447/arkansas-razorbacks-coach-bret-bielema-continues-campaign-hurry-no-huddle-offenses-college-football****IN DEFIANCE OF THE BASKETBALL TOURNEYMENT HERE IS FOOTBALL STUFF*** Bielema wanting to slow offenses down by siting injuries. Slow football down again and defenses will regain advantage in the balance of power. Once this happens the solid and sustained series of licks and stiff shots will pick up again and my brain wonders where Bielema's argument will be then? Defense gets to move once the ball is set. They get to adjust to what they see. This is their advantage. To offset this, the offense sets the pace of play. Always has ever since the play clock was introduced. Offense can audible but risk screwing up and getting called on illegal formations, running out of play clock, risk of false start increases etc. the problem for some coaches is not the injury, I am sorry I just don't accept that they are ALL that benevolent. The problem for those coaches is the dynamic changed and offenses have begun exploiting the advantage they have organically. Up tempo offense changed the face of the SEC, made Oregon a house hold name and by Gwad made Oklahoma State a national title contender a few yrs ago. Its slick, its interesting and oh by the way defenses still make stops because they adapt. My example would be John Chavis stymieing Texas A&M every gem since they arrived in the SEC? Bama found solutions for Auburn and A&M. Defenses will find a way
