espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12508447/arkansas-razorbacks-coach-bret-bielema-continues-campaign-hurry-no-huddle-offenses-college-football****IN DEFIANCE OF THE BASKETBALL TOURNEYMENT HERE IS FOOTBALL STUFF*** Bielema wanting to slow offenses down by siting injuries. Slow football down again and defenses will regain advantage in the balance of power. Once this happens the solid and sustained series of licks and stiff shots will pick up again and my brain wonders where Bielema's argument will be then? Defense gets to move once the ball is set. They get to adjust to what they see. This is their advantage. To offset this, the offense sets the pace of play. Always has ever since the play clock was introduced. Offense can audible but risk screwing up and getting called on illegal formations, running out of play clock, risk of false start increases etc. the problem for some coaches is not the injury, I am sorry I just don't accept that they are ALL that benevolent. The problem for those coaches is the dynamic changed and offenses have begun exploiting the advantage they have organically. Up tempo offense changed the face of the SEC, made Oregon a house hold name and by Gwad made Oklahoma State a national title contender a few yrs ago. Its slick, its interesting and oh by the way defenses still make stops because they adapt. My example would be John Chavis stymieing Texas A&M every gem since they arrived in the SEC? Bama found solutions for Auburn and A&M. Defenses will find a way His next rule change proposals include, Arkansas starts every game with a 24 point lead, every touchdown by Arkansas counts as 14 points, every win by an SEC team counts as 2 if it's non-conference and 4 if it's conference, every loss by an SEC team to an OOC opponent is half a loss and a loss to an SEC team counts as a win, and the forward pass by the opposition is banned. His stuff on this topic has reminded me of that conference Armageddon Satie a few yrs ago starring the Big XII. He is the only one going along with. Saban on this Texas: "ok so we are going to the PAC 10 everybody in?" Texas Tech: "Yes my Liege"

Vanderbilt quarterback Patton Robinette has decided to end his playing career, citing health concerns and his desire to enter medical school.
The redshirt junior told coach Derek Mason on Thursday and informed teammates about his decision Friday morning. Robinette, who started five of his 16 career games with the Commodores, threw for 1,096 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions during two seasons of play. He also rushed for 277 yards and nine touchdowns during his career.

A PAC southern division of LA, Phoenix, Austin, Houston sounds so much better than one with Lubbock.

Can you imagine the Duns, Lakers, Rockets and Spurs in the same division? Anyway as long as Rice and UH still play I don't care where it would be. The ole SWC days had some cool match ups. Rice was Schitt back then but they typically brought it when playing Baylor or Houston.

Notre Dame is giving the Wildcats a hell of a game. Good on them for not faltering. Though Notre Dame also has one of the most obnoxious fanbases in college sports so I'm not exactly rooting for them to win.
Just realized that this is the wrong NCAA thread. IGNORE ME.

Tomorrow marks the last day of basketball coverage. Most sports outlets will begin a quick transition back to CFB. The groundhog has emerged reluctantly but attentively. Off season shennnnigans shall commence soon brothers. Don't bury this thread

Get the first glimpse of Riley's Nebraska Cornhuskers this week. Should be almost a sellout crowd as long as the weather holds-out. Got burned-out by all the drama around the team last season but I'm starting to get some excitement back.

I remember hearing some ESPN schmuck say that the best that Nebraska will probably do this year is 8 wins. I was like, "I'd be okay with that."

Nebraska had a coach who took them to conference title games. They might have been in the rose bowl in another yr. They just had to Bo-lieve

ACC may expand and go to 3 divisions.
"Other potential additions — again, if they go the three-division route — could include Cincinnati, Memphis, UCF and UConn."
