UCF head football coach George O'Leary has been named the school's interim athletic director. Did the school check his resume first for applicability or qualifications?

I think UCF is pretty happy about that fib on O'Leary's resume. They wouldn't be keeping him or have even got him in the first place if not for that.

*****BREAKING NEWS*****
This morning Sirius Radio's channel 91/College Sports, jumped all over a nothing story to perpetrate buzz and generate ratings. A friend of a friend of a Sirius host from 91, knows the Oklahoma University AD or a low level coach or something. He said he thinks the Big XII should expand in the wake of being left out of the playoff despite the formula working to near perfection. This led to a literal all day long conversation on every show they had. It skipped a fire break between Mad Dog 86, NASCAR radio, ESPN lite and MLB extra innings and somehow ended up getting airtime coverage on the Finebaum program, chiefly because Paul was out and some replacement needed a story to spin. I was in and out of the car quite a bit today, and every time I got in they were talking about possible scenarios for Big XII additions. By my drive home I was convinced something had broke while I was working and just didn't hear or see it because I was...you know working. So I come home and check ESPN and bleacherreport....pocket lint. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. I had been excited but concerned over the thought of conference Armageddon II. On one hand, it made some great non-stop college football radio and TV during three consecutive off seasons. Most notably the mid-late June of 2010 and late July 2011. On the other hand, it was filled with false rumors and some down right foolish ones (Notre Dame to the Big XII, FSU to the Big XII, the SEC adding FSU, Oklahoma St, OU and A&M and going to a 16 team 4 division playoff within the conference etc.). When the dust settled much was different but jeez dudes, I just don't know anymore. Did anyone else read or hear a single thing that suggested this had legs?
Side note, one of the most ridiculous things an analyst said today: Former Ole Myth HC Houston Nutt said the Big XII should go after Nebraska and that he thinks they could really get em. Even if all of the above were true and the Big XII was looking to expand and add teams, the accretion that Nebraska would ever go back is none sense. They will never ever get back into bed with Texas. In the words of Taylor Swift "WEeeeeeeeee are never ever ever getting back together!". Nebraska is making a killing in the B1G and that big assed pie of money the Big XII members just split would not be nearly as big if they went back to 12 member schools. So unless they encentivise the hell out of them for like five years in some bonus money, paid off the B1G exit fee and suspended the UT football program for ten years I doubt Nebraska would consider it for a fleeting moment.

Oh and Nebraska would likely have to have every player from the 2010 season back for both UT and NE, suit em all up, put em in Gerry's World, have them line up at 4th and 9 with Texas ball, then just before the snap a referee would blow the whistle for one last review. They would have to find that Colt McCoy's incomplete pass hit the deck after time expired. Bo Pelini would be allowed to hit the lead official from the original Big XII title game in 2010 over the head with the actual trophy Texas was given that night. They'd replay the BCS title game with Bama vs Nebraska. Short of all that, I don't see it happening

Nutt is aptly named. Neb is almost done with "junior member" status in the Big 10 and the conference is obviously on it's way back up. Plus there are plenty of F-you feelings on both sides in terms of us and the 12.
I love having every game televised without having to resort to PPV and the other coverage the Big 10 network provides as well.
Really don't see us going back.

Ole Miss junior T Laremy Tunsil was arrested for hitting his stepfather but claims it was in self defense, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Senior DL Ondre Pipkins told ESPN's Joe Schad that Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh and the football team's staff pressured him to end his career.
Pipkins intends to transfer to finish his playing career. The staff reportedly asked Pipkins "10 times over a two-month period to sign a medical scholarship form that would have ended his career," per Schad. The defensive tackle says the first diagnosis was arthritis in his knee (he previously tore his ACL in 2013). After denying the waiver, Pipkins then says the diagnosis changed and doctors suggested he take six months away from the game. The former five-star defensive tackle understands he might need to transfer to an FCS level program.

I don't usually go in for the recruiting stuff but I saw a story about TCU grabbing up a five star QB for the 2016 season. Smart and deep. This yr Tryvonne Boykin is a senior and already has the Hiesman juice. Kenny Hill (hopefully sober) will be eligible after a year of reps and weights and memorizing the offense in 16. The kid who committed will get to sit behind a talented QB and learn. If all thee above pans out, TCU will remain a top five team for a bit
