Ole Miss junior T Laremy Tunsil was arrested for hitting his stepfather but claims it was in self defense, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy. Senior DL Ondre Pipkins told ESPN's Joe Schad that Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh and the football team's staff pressured him to end his career. Pipkins intends to transfer to finish his playing career. The staff reportedly asked Pipkins "10 times over a two-month period to sign a medical scholarship form that would have ended his career," per Schad. The defensive tackle says the first diagnosis was arthritis in his knee (he previously tore his ACL in 2013). After denying the waiver, Pipkins then says the diagnosis changed and doctors suggested he take six months away from the game. The former five-star defensive tackle understands he might need to transfer to an FCS level program. Looks like Harbaugh is going the Saban route of processing guys out. Not saying processing is right(oversigning and pushing guys out creates a definite competitive advantage plus these kids aren't told that you have no qualms about cutting them when you recruit them), but I'd take the medical hardship schollie. You still get a great school paid-for without having to practice, work-out or play. If they want to process you out it's not like you are going to be playing pro ball anyway. It's the kids that get pushed-out without a medical hardship offer that I really feel for.

The FSU situation gets better. Not a single police officer or investigator has spoken to the freshman QB

For some reason (no CFB in sight) the Big XII expansion talk will not stop. Not only that but I have heard "they should get Nebraska back, they want to be in the Big XII!" More and more. Now a page ago I described the manner in which Nebraska would return to the Big XII. I reiterate my point. Nebraska would return to the Big XII if Texas gets the death penalty and they replay the 3rd down from the 2009 XII title game. I don't know by anyone would think they would go back. Nobody goes back. They make more money and don't put up with the BS they did in the Big XII

The Clarion Ledger reports the stepfather of Ole Miss junior Laremy Tunsil says the argument that led to Tunsil punching him was over the offensive tackle "riding around with football agents."

Seriously, there's not a lot of contenders in the Power 5, barring a collapse of epic proportions, so your best bet is the Group of 5 teams (American, MAC, Mountain West, Conference USA, Sun Belt).

2019 Cowboys Classic is Oregon vs Auburn. Hey I saw that episode! That's the one where Michael Dyer looked like he was down, but he wasn't and he totally ran it for another twenty yards and Oregon's super duper offense couldn't move the ball! What a great show that was. Seriously I love reruns! Ok back to reality, if you are going to rematch a championship game, how bout we go with a game Oregon looked like Oregon...oh nevermind they never act like Oregon in National Championship games. On Colorado St and Houston. I get your point, but adding either of them would get you eyeballs in TV markets they don't dominate. A&M and LSU have Houston for the moment. Not that Texas doesn't get looks, but the market has favored the nearest SEC schools in recent years. Adding Houston would help there but then again it's another Texas team and you could just as easily tell the Big XII schools to recruit harder down there. Cincinnati gets you into B1G territory. Memphis overlaps with the SEC markets and actually has a decent TV market. Also those additions would be helpful travel-wise to WVU. Colorado state gets you Denver back but so would Air Force and getting money behind AF would be a great brand extension and add a dynamic to the league that the TV markets could use as a nationwide tool. No they don't recruit like other schools and can't. But the marketing tool that adding a service academy brings is interesting and different and despite the lack of size and funds, AF has a pretty decent history in football. Navy is in a former power five league. Why not?

Harbaugh was on Cowherds show today, and lets just say it didnt go so great....
“I’ve been in the business 10 years, folks. That was a clunker,” Cowherd said. “There’s not much I can do about that. I tried. I asked every open-ended question I could. He had nothing to say. I love him. I love Jim Harbaugh. I was trying to go somewhere. I was going back to my interview tricks. Why, what, how? Nothing to say. … He’s a very intense guy. He’s different. People in San Francisco said he’s difficult. The two or three guys I know in San Francisco that didn’t love Harbaugh, I guarantee they’ll text me, ‘That’s why he didn’t last in San Francisco. You can’t have a conversation. He’s very intense.’
"If they don’t want to talk, they don’t want to talk. Nothing I can do. If you’re an 18-year-old kid and just heard Jim Harbaugh on my show, I choose Urban Meyer and Ohio State. I would. I would go to Jim Mora or Steve Sarkisian or Nick Saban or Charlie Strong. I try to make everybody sound good. Have fun, lighten it up, sell your program.”

Wait, I already know the answer to this. Yes. He is.

While recruits seem to have no problem with Harbaugh, King of the Sports Jackasses does, what a shocker. Don't worry that vacant spot where your heart should be or trouble that empty skull Colin, Michigan will do just fine without your blessing. Go back to shitting on dead people, that is all your good for.

Harbaugh's intense but look at his teams in San Francisco and at Stanford, the players fed off that intensity. Zod, I wish he was still with the Niners.

The Harbaugh/Cowherd interview is a no-story and for the life of me I don't see the interest. Bad interviews happen. When they do nobody cares except a handful of people who bother to mention it around the water cooler. So I don't understand why this is getting so much play. I listen to a ton of Sirius 91 college sports and Mark Packer talked about it the same way. It happens, it's no story.
Speaking of Packer, he dropped the quote of the day for me. A caller from S. Carolina called and said he heard that packman was afraid of S. Carolina BBQ because they used a little mustard in the sauce. Packer's response: "I'm not afraid of it, I just wouldn't feed it to a cat."

Braxton Miller plans to stay at Ohio State, according to one source Joe Schad spoke with. ...I think I'd have taken my chances with free agency...er I mean the senior transfer rule. Unless Myer comes to me and says "you are the guy, you are absolutely my starter" than I'd bail. Competing is one thing. Usually one on one for a job (Kenny Hill vs Kyle Allen last yr). A three way dance is bad option in the world of major college football. The risk is sitting while your draft stock plummets and you can do nothing to change it (if he doesn't get the starting role).
