I'm excited to see what John Chavis brings to Aggieland. He told ESPN that they are structured to win championships in College Station. We'll see....
The president of Florida State met with all coaches and football players today. A good sign for discipline but history bears out my next statement: interference from administrators causes a lack of focus or a focus on the administrator. Trust me I believethey need the oversight. All I'm saying is the kids will have to contend with external stimulus and standards vs just their coaches standards. Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Tarkanian, Bo Pelini all got administrators involved in their programs not by choice and all three despite success, ended up coaching elsewhere

Alabama head coach Nick Saban wants college prospects to receive their draft grades from the advisory board at a later date. Nick Saban would also like to outlaw the forward pass vs his defense, prohibit the NFL from drafting his players until they have won him four championships, outlaw Auburn recruiting in Alabama and finally to retroactively prohibit players from returning live balls from missed field goals. This of course would result in Bama claiming another mythical national title in 2013

Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Tarkanian, Bo Pelini all got administrators involved in their programs not by choice and all three despite success, ended up coaching elsewhere Bo certainly had his faults but he ran a clean program with the highest team GPA of any our football coaches. He's gone because he didn't make changes to get us over the "9-3 with a blowout loss every season" hump while having a big mouth and temper that got on some nerves. He could have gotten away with that rut if he was popular, he could have gotten away with being abrasive if he won more, but the powers that be wouldn't let him get away with both. Personally, rather than spend nearly $8million in buyouts I'd have made him move his two weak-link buddies on to bring in a top-notch DC and a qb-coach. Our wallflower AD considers that micromanaging, I'd say it's problem assessment and solving.

Brent Bielima said that taking a knee vs Texas, was "borderline erotic" to him.
I lol'd at that. But...let me say uncle Charlie will recall that when/if the opportunity presents itself. Lol Texas but Charlie Strong will want blood on that

On an Ohio State football fan group I'm a part of, a conversation about the Buckeyes being snubbed at the ESPYs somehow devolved into an elderly woman daring a guy to cut his penis off and eat it. Ohio State fans are a weird bunch, honestly.

The Big 12 media named TCU the favorite to win the conference. And I hope they do. But Oklahoma is coming back ya'll. okie lite has all the pieces to put together a run. Texas is going to surprise some people starting with Notre Dame (not saying they win but they will give ema fight and earn some respect). Them there is Baylor. I'm not going to say they are falling off the ladder but 10-2 i while still a great record, is about as much as I am giving them. On Texas vs Notre Dame, those two programs travel great. No matter who they are playing, they are going to get the absolute best swing from their opponents. Peopl love to brag about beating them. Texas wasn't Texas last yr. that did not diminish the BYU sweep nor did it detract from the super positive image of seeing Rick Nuhiesel's son being carried off the field after beating Texas. Navy exploded (for a service academy) after beating ND twice in three yrs. to get to see those programs play each other makes me wonder how good it's going to be to see mega programs get up and swing hard at each other. I'm jacked.

Sounds like Nike is not going to release player specific jersey numbers any more, just the #1 and the year (15 this, 16 next, etc)
