I watched it back and forth, seeing what Raw would say about buying WCW and vice versa. I didn't know who a lot of the WCW guys were, since I hadn't watched the show since March 1999(realized that when I believe a poster here, reviewed every Nitro during it's downfall, brave man). So I only watched a few Nitro matches, mainly the Championship match between Steiner and Booker T, and of course Flair vs Sting, along with Flair's promo. It truly was surreal, but part of me still believed that Vince would continue the WCW brand on another network.

Since I'm not American, I cannot imagine what it must have been for you guys to have both shows at the same time. Must have been a pain to watch just one show.
In Canada RAW was on Mondays and Nitro was on Wednesdays. So I would watch RAW from 9 to 11 then the replay on the same night from 12 AM to 2 AM. Then on Wednesdays I would watch Nitro the three hours from 3 PM to 6 PM(I had school but I had arranged my schedule to my needs). Then in the evening I would go to a friend and watch the replay from 12 to 2(since the Nitro replay was only 2 hours).
What pisses me off is that during those times, because RAW and Nitro were not at the same time over here, plus there were the replays, I've never thought about taping any of the shows which pisses me off. Well I taped a few things on the replays I knew had been great during the show like Austin confronting Mike Tyson or Luger beating Hogan for the title and Goldberg beating Hogan for the title. And the whole Bret having a metal plate that stuned Goldberg. But I wish I would have taped more stuff, Hell all the shows basically.

They stopped airing Nitro in Australia a couple of months before it closed.

It had been a solid year since the last time I even bothered flipping channels. I remember for the simulcast, I went back and forth in disbelief at times, and then I did that old TV PIP feature where you could get a little box in the corner of another channel (sans sound). So, I watched a lot of the night like that, but 90% of my viewership was on Raw.
I'll never forget that night. Even with WCW's deteriorated state, it was surreal to process what happened.

During the MNW, Raw live then Nitro replay.
Last Nitro I was flipping back and forth.

I'm pretty sure Nitro started an hour before Raw. It was a long time ago but I remember watching nitro and then flipping back to raw between breaks. Just remember thinking... Is this real

Switched back and forth and taped both for posterity. What a weird, exciting, sad night. WCW did a lot of stupid shit, but I miss it. Wrestling as we knew it pretty much died that night, it hasn't been the same since.

RAW, I was never a big WCW guy. By all accounts that was originally the plan

Due to scheduling in the UK, you could watch both, although by that point I hadn't watched Nitro for about 2 years.

I was watching Nitro, but had the Tv in another room set up for raw.
Lost the tape a long time ago, but someone sent me copies of that Nitro and Raw for comparison purposes.
I had attended the last Thunder and that show had a phone-in from Eric Bischoff, who sounded tired and defeated.
I do believe I actually jumped out of my seat when Vince's face appeared at the start of Nitro

I watched the majority of Nitro and stayed on TNT for the simulcast. Sad because I knew the cruiserweights would be gone. I was concerned for Booker T, even though he was the champion. And I knew that WCW was dead and Vince McMahon was gonna try and embarrass and destroy it, and remove the good WCW had.

Due to scheduling in the UK, you could watch both, although by that point I hadn't watched Nitro for about 2 years. Didn't know you were in the UK. Yeah it worked out well for us, I was sad, I really thought WCW was turning the corner at that point. Ok, it was because they were pretty much forced to, but the cruiserweight division including the tag belts, focusing on new guys like Sean O'Haire while using a few key established guys like Booker and Steiner, bringing in good indy talent like Chris Daniels and AJ Styles. The last few months you could see signs of a recovery if they stuck with it.

I watched Raw that night but I switched a couple times, definitely saw the Sting/Flair match and the Booker/Steiner match.
It is an interesting point though to what if WCW had been able to hang on a little longer. By 2003, Austin, Rock, and Foley were all pretty much done, and WCW still had Booker, Steiner, and the guys they were building up. It may not have pulled back in front but I have to think the gap would've closed a little bit.

I live around the Atlanta area, so I was definitely watching WCW. Around here, WCW WAS pro-wrestling. I just remember being really excited about the possibility of the WCW and WWE crossing over. Then it became crystal clear that WCW was over and, as a wrestling fan, I was devastated. I still miss that company to this day.
Though it sounds hyperbolic and overly dramatic, to me, that was the day wrestling died in North America.
