I don't care how good the Seahawks D is. Brady and Belichick are pissed and they're gonna torch the Legion of Boom. Patriots win 41-17 and Wilson's streak of games where he's only lost by single digits is over.
Sorry Seahawks fans. Russell Wilson is no Eli Manning. (Yeah, I just said it.)

New England doesn't have the offense to do score that much. How are Gronkowski and Edelman supposed to get open? They're not playing against undermanned defenses that rely on zone. New England can carve bad defenses to pieces but they're physically too slow to overpower Seattle. That passing game is going to be flat. Seattle's probably won't fare much better, though.

1:59-2:25 into the video. "Free the air! Free the air!" See guys, the New England Patriots are just environmentalists! Not only do they deserve the Lamar Hunt trophy for being AFC Champions (and hopefully tonight, the Lombardi Trophy for being Super Bowl Champions), they also deserve an award from the Environmental Protection Agency!

My decision relies on a relatively-simple mental exercise:
-The #1 rated defense has lost just once in the Super Bowl the last ten times it has appeared (Pittsburgh, Super Bowl XLV against Green Bay). -The #1 rated defense belongs to Seattle. -As it did last year, when they destroyed Denver.
This one will probably be a lot closer, but I have to go Seattle here.

It makes me sick to say it, but I'm definitely pulling for Seattle tonight. There's no way in hell I want to see Bill Belichick or Tom Brady happy at the end of the night.

The Seahawks secondary shut down a record breaking Broncos offense last year. They were able to beat an offense that had Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy, Jordy Nelson, and Randall Cobb in the NFC Championship Game. New England's not going in there against a defense like the Colts, Seattle's not going to let Blount run amok on them. New England doesn't have the weapons on offense to torch Seattle. As much as I hate to say it, Seattle will hoist the Lombardi Trophy for a 2nd year in a row. That is unless Roger Goodell wants to redeem himself somewhat and give the Niners the NFL equivalent of the Money in the Bank briefcase, so they can cash in on Seattle in a "The Niners only need 1 yard to win, while Seattle needs to score 10 trillion points to win" game.

So someone used Stallone's speech from Rocky Balboa, an Imagine Dragons song and football clips (sounds like a game of mad libs) to create an amazing Tom Brady hype video. Officials grew suspicious when there was any fan noise what so ever in the Georgia Dome!

I know that my Colts were suspected of trying to do this a few times as well, but in that case I do not buy it because, unlike the Falcons, the fans had damned good reason to cheer like crazy. Winning breeds large, noisy crowds. Not only that, but it is a well trained crowd. If you are in the nosebleeds you could still hear it if a cheerleader passes gas while the Colts are on offense but cannot hear yourself think when they are on defense.

This is the worst matchup that could've happened for me in the super bowl but with that being said I'm pulling for Seattle begrudgingly.
With that being said, I think the final score is 23-17 New England.

I always found it odd how loud their crowds are. I wonder if they did it in that playoff game with Seattle a few years back, because that crowd was one of the loudest I've ever heard.

Well, today’s the day. It’s gonna be an honor, Boston.
If one is looking for a post about all the time-wasting back-and-forth bullshit regarding cheating, press conference antics, etc. that have poisoned the casual fan’s SB49 hype, look elsewhere.
As fans of the gridiron, this is what we live for. Two elite juggernauts colliding in the biggest game of the year under the brightest of lights.
If this was pro wrestling, it really couldn’t have been scripted any better. This right here is the storyline: In one corner, there is the defending champions, having faced the adversity of that can come with success. And in the other corner, the challengers are THE most successful NFL franchise of the 21st Century to date, having to return to the scene of the crime for the first time where there flawless season came to a nailbiting, heartbreaking conclusion.
Before addressing what both juggernauts have accomplished this season, there is also the underlying storyline that this is a rematch of a thrilling classic from the 2012 season, a legitimate come-from-behind victory that put the Seahawks on the radar. While it is course most remembered for the trolling quarrel between Tom Brady and Richard Sherman, something far more important happened: Russell Wilson showed he could overcome insurmountable odds, and in the process exposed a highly flawed Patriots secondary. The results of that game can be felt going into today’s game in the desert.
The Patriots immediately traded for Aqib Talib, unhappy about how their secondary’s performance in Seattle. In the end though, as great as Talib is, the results pretty much ended up being the same, being a part of a team that as usual, reached back-to-back conference title games. New England then allowed him to jump to the team that had eliminated them last season, but they would only boost their secondary even more by adding former enemy Darrelle Revis and also Brandon Browner, giving him an opportunity after blowing his chances in Seattle and also a key figure in the Seahawks’ upset victory over the Patriots in 2012. The result: we now have a game today that guarantees multiple interceptions (in addition to other types of turnovers) and provides a plethora of outstanding secondary players.
If you love quarterbacks, this is also the game for you. A three-time SB champion and first-ballot Hall of Famer in Brady. The defending SB champion QB in Wilson, who has kicked off his career in the fashion of a Hall of Famer. While one has no qualms trash-talking and wearing his emotions on his sleeves, the other has shown to be cooler than the other side of the pillow, rarely showing any emotion but focus and happiness when making a successful play. The results have been the same in the end though and that’s all that matters. They are truly reliable in any situation.
Another matchup to watch will be both pass rushes against the opposing backfields. There is Wilson with his obvious legs plus his Beast, my pick for the best tailback in the league with Adrian Peterson currently suspended still. Seattle can just embarrass opponents with movements, but then break out the Beast to jump run over the competition thanks to his fearless approach and the zone blocking scheme Seattle uses. We’ll see how that pans out against future Hall of Famer Vince Wilfork and a Patriots pass rush that has had some struggles against such a scheme. In particular, I’ll be keeping an eye out on Wilfork’s battle against Max Unger. But the Patriots also have a pummeling tailback of their own in LeGarrette Blount though, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fairs against the likes of Cliff Avril, Bruce Irvin, Michael Bennett, KJ Wright, and Bobby Wagner.
I also cannot wait to see how the receivers match up against the secondary. Will the grit of Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, and Ricardo Lockette overcome the excellent CB tandem of Revis & Browner? Will Lockette’s speed be able to fly right over Revis Island? Will Rob Gronkowski be the one TE that can truly shine against the Seahawks, or will he be left with next to nothing like other current TE greats when facing the Legion of Boom and the rest of the Seahawks defense? How will Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola also fare against the LOB, especially with the latter having some history against them during his time in the STL?
We also have coaches that do not concern themselves with public perception; they truly have balls under the most scrutiny. They also do not concern themselves with making others feel warm and fuzzy with their coaching styles, instead focusing on what’s best for their own teams. They will exploit any matchup, any weakness, any mistake, any injuries (which there are plenty of going into today), and happily feast upon opponents’ carcasses at the slightest scent of blood. They also refuse to die, doing everything they can to win no matter what no matter how steep the journey is. It will be a true battle of gumption, featuring the greatest coach of the 21st Century against an adversary that ignores all complaints about his past.
I must also mention that the 2014 season had both of these conference champions reach a crossroads after key losses in Kansas City. For the Patriots, the unthinkable happened, getting completely blown out and just embarrassed, with Brady being benched and many wondering if the magical ride that’s gone on for a dozen years was finally reaching its conclusion. But that turned out to be a necessary evil, the rock bottom that would motivate them to get their shit together and reach their terrifying potential. For the Seahawks, the loss was a nailbiter, but there had been too many of those types of losses, causing a dozen leaders to gather the troops and get everyone on the same emotional page to play for each other, to be the true embodiment of a team. They have since been on an 8-game winning streak going into today.
There will be trash-talking. There will be politicking on both sides. There will be rules bent and broken. Shit will get heated. And do not be surprised if we see a come-from-behind drive or two. This is the motherf***ing Super Bowl. And it is an honor for my Seahawks to go for the rare repeat, looking to slay another of the two most iconic QBs of the 21st Century to date on the grandest stage, against the last team that repeated to date, the greatest NFL team of the 21st Century; that being the New England Patriots, who are looking to add to their legacy, be the ones to prevent the Seahawks’ repeat, and reach that even rarer fourth ring, their first world title in a decade.
May the best, most well-coached, most well-crafted, and most determined team win, and objectively speaking, I’m hoping for this one to live to the hype, fans of both participating teams and of the sport in general to be on pins and needles throughout the game. Expectations should be for that to be reality, as both teams are significantly better than they were in that 2012 thriller.

Pregame coverage for the Super Bowl is always great, You've got 15 hours of commentators talking about stuff we already know about, a concert, and some random sparkly dude.

Russell Wilson is 10-0 against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, including last year's SB win against Peyton Manning. Is he the NFL's Legend Killer?
