Sorry if this has been asked before, but I want to punish myself with a little late WCW. What I'm wondering is have they censored Sid breaking his leg? I really can't stand to watch it and I don't want to be taken by surprise.

If you want to punish yourself don't watch Sin, it's actually a half decent show. 2000 was where all the awful shit was, try New Blood Rising or Halloween Havoc 2000 (Kronik in the main event, what more could you ask for!?)

The footage wasn't seen until the following night's Nitro. So while you won't see it in the Network airing, that's not on WWE's hands.

Sid's leg break never made it to air to begin with, because they were focused on Mystery Opponent's entrance at the time.
The footage of the leg break that is all over YouTube was aired on the next night's Nitro.

I didn't start watching wrestling until 2002 and I've seen that clip on Youtube but never knew the background behind it. I learned something today.

It's what makes WCW showing it, like, several times all that more questionable, given they never needed to show it to begin with, much less replaying it several times.

Not to mention Russo begging Sid to do the spot despite Sid's objections. Even if Sid had made the move work, the camera's wouldn't have caught it, making Russo's persistence all for naught.

Sid jumping off the ropes was suggested by John Laurinaitis, who was a road agent during WCW's last year. Russo went home in October 2000 after suffering a concussion and never returned.

I stand corrected. Probably meant to say Laurinaitis. Force of habit.

That just makes it even worse, because Johnny suggested this stupid spot that would have looked cool if Sid landed right, but wouldn't have been on camera for the world to see regardless.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around building a big spot like Sid coming off the top rope and then the camera totally missed it live. You'd think this company went out of business 2 months later or something.
Sin was actually a pretty decent PPV, as were the other 2 WCW outings from 2001 before then went under.

Meh, it was the middle rope, actually. Though it really bugs me that a former wrestler like Big Johnny couldn't comprehend that a second rope Big Boot was something that didn't make sense.
