One of my favorite series on the old 24/7 was WWE Old School and I can't help but think we're not getting nearly as much of it on the Network.
I know the mysterious editing/shortening and the lack of shows currently featured were already discussed ad nauseum, but those "unaired" events hold a special place in my heart. My inner wrestling fan loves seeing underused talent getting screen time that isn't compromised by constant pre-taped recaps and irrelevant commentary. There's also quite a few diamonds in the rough during the older Old School shows that really stood out.
Unfortunately I don't think Old School is a priority for the Network and doesn't seem to be a big part of their programming lineup for the live Network feed. There's so many events that could be featured here that many fans would feel like watching.
The WWF/AJPW Wrestling Summit comes to mind, along with special shows like the ECW-produced Terry Funk Tribute that was documented in "Beyond The Mat". Matches from the Wrestling Summit found its way to WWE DVD's in the past IIRC, and the Bret Hart-Terry Funk main event from the aforementioned Tribute Show was also featured on 24/7.
If Old School isn't a big priority, they could possibly air a match compilation Network series along the lines of the ECW Unreleased DVD sets that could feature possible "diamond in the rough" matches or even full house show/lesser-known/special events.
Honestly I think one of the reasons why the Network appeals to hardcore fans is the ability to "discover" all of this stuff. 24/7 had plenty of that kind of stuff with a much smaller programming lineup. I'd love to see if the Network does the same.
