So I tried hooking up an antenna for a TV that's in a room so that I can get local channels. I tried looking at the instructions and I following each step. However, I am having trouble getting a signal. What's the deal?

It's not 1987 anymore and no channels broadcast over the air?

Plus it depends on where you live. Lots of trees? Might hinder the signal. I put my antennae up high on the wall. Still don't get all the channels around here, but most of them.

It's okay, it's already been taken care of. It's installed and has been for a few days now.

Not in this country. I can't believe that's still a thing. Which country? Canada. We shut that shit down a few years ago.

Hell I know plenty of people locally that dropped cable or Mini satellite and just get over the air channels. With a decent rooftop antenna you can get like 15 channels.

Got a buddy in Vancouver who was telling me about it last year.

They ran like a two year long campaign that if you didn't convert to digital you were going without TV. I suppose you could still get stuff from the US, we never did, but I guess depending on where you were it's possible.

The digital channels ARE the over-the-air channels. Modern TVs have a tuner built in while older TVs need the converter box.

It might not literally say scan, but a TV that old, it's totally there.

I do know he was mad cause he wasn't getting hockey anymore. Which was the one thing he watched on TV.
