blizzard a bust? NYC is getting drenched right now Original totals were from 30" to 36" inches, revised totals are from 8" to 12" so it's sort of a bust talking about NYC, boston will get hammered. Source : The Weather Channel I'm on Long Island. The roads over here were given the all-clear a few hours ago, after the blizzard ended, and we still have a number of people that have been skidding out and getting into accidents. Its not just the snow that they closed roads for, but the icy conditions on the roads.

To be honest I would have loved to see Ambrose walk to the arena and head inside and just camp out there and be like "First one here. Might as well make the most of it" and it starts cutting to him at the concession stand pigging out on food cooking stuff over a bonfire, riding a zamboni around the halls and in the arena, etc. That would have been f**king awesome Okay, now I'm disappointed that we didn't get 3 hours of that.

And can you imagine the furore if they'd gone ahead against government warnings? To say nothing of lawsuits (by the statee and/or private persons either attending the show or impacting by someone choosing to attend) and criminal investigations against WWE (by the state for suborning violation of the travel ban), as well as the bad press all around. WWE did what was best for everyone in this case.

I'm glad they didn't have a normal RAW. This scrambled format worked fine.

I think the OP here is making a big deal out of something that WWE really couldn't have been able to control. Nobody was going to go out in the snow, the XL Center would have looked ridiculous half-empty. Everybody was being cautious about the blizzard, and yes, with the power of hindsight, we can all see that it wasn't that bad, but nobody knew that beforehand, now did they?

I was not trying to stir up a hornets nest here, my hobby that I am quite serious about is weather forecasting. I use heavily scientific sites regarding weather and have a nice set up that automatically transmits weather data to wunderground, a PWS. My observations talking with other weather fans showed very little snow on the ground at the arena at the start of the show, and around 3 inches at the time RAW would have ended and people were going home. Of course people were playing it safe and I do agree, it was just frustrating to me that due to our current lack of scientific knowledge we cannot yet pinpoint exact snow totals better and this storm overall was a perfect example of how far weather forecasting has yet to go. I am positive if the WWE knew exactly what the storm totals would be before, during, and after RAW they would have gone ahead with the show and the government officials would not have issued the travel ban stuff. You need to realize I hang out and contribute to discussions like this frequently, then you know where I was coming from: www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=2904They were calling for 30 to 36 inches of snow in NYC, they got 7.8 inches. That in wrestling terms applied to weather forecasting, was a "Botch" call.

They essentially are having RAW, just a few days later in the same building billed as a live Smackdown. Plus we had a fairly memorable RAW broadcast last night with some interesting candid interviews and whatnot. I think they handled the situation pretty well.

That in wrestling terms applied to weather forecasting, was a "Botch" call. WWE knowing what the storm totals would be would not have changed anything. It was out of their hands. You can't run a show when a city shuts itself down for the night. That's where the story begins and ends. A wrestling show doesn't matter in comparison with the threat of a major storm that would have made travel dangerous. That's not the kind of liability anyone wants.

Can't fault them for erring on the side of human safety.
