Isn't EC3 still injured? I figured they had him doing this mid card stuff (although he and Spud are great together no matter where they are on the show) as a way to keep him on TV without having him work tough matches. Might be wrong on that.
Concerning "open" contracts, I should specify: obviously TNA would want to write in their deals that their talent can't just up and sign with WWE during the term of their deal, so I don't mean totally open. I'm talking more about allowing guys to make appearances in various promotions, and not being afraid to cross-pollinate with some of the new wrestling shows or bigger indies out there. TNA took a massive hit over the last couple of years, mostly brought on by its own ineptitude, and changing their business dealings could liven things up and allow them access to more talent out there, even if they just bring certain people in for a set of tapings or two.
Also, I'm down for anything that doesn't lead to what was described before: TNA bringing people in on a pay-per-appearance basis, and then not allowing them to do lucrative indy dates due to DVD tapings or some nonsense. Hearing that shit was one of the factors that had me ignoring TNA for a good while a few years back.
As for Drew, I'd say he's much closer to the EC3 mold than he is to the Christian/Angle mold, in terms of TNA signing a former WWE guy. He obviously had his moments in WWE, but his run near the top was not long at all, and his depush left him as a comedy character...not the end of the world, but not somebody fans would take really seriously. If he shows up in TNA with the personality he's had since leaving WWE, it's a chance to reinvent himself, which I think they'd be smart to give him, assuming this is more than just a one-shot deal for the UK tour.

The thing that bugs me is... I'd have EC3 on TV to push him, but I wouldn't bother putting him in matches where the focus is having him getting knocked around by Mr. Anderson and, of all people, Borash. Not that the babyfaces don't need it, but EC3 is one of their few bright spots, and if this continues, he'll just be another guy.
Also... not another Tommy Dreamer match. Why doesn't this guy give up on busting his head wide open for no apparant reason?

Now my curiosity is aroused! What was on those texts? This apparently. I guess I'm dumb but I still don't fully understand what's going on in this exchange.

This apparently. I guess I'm dumb but I still don't fully understand what's going on in this exchange. Chavo is gloating that he took some girls panties as a souvenir from the night before. Drew (jokingly?) responds that he was beating off in the gym... Taryn took drews phone and said the last part... perhaps thinking that the people were reversed (with Drew being the one bragging about the panties)

^Oh ok. Thanks, I kept looking at that picture trying to figure out what could Taryn possibly be mad about. Sounds like the usual kind of goofball conversation male friends have with each other.
Not to mention, that's some scary shit that Taryn could take your phone and still confuse the other person's texts for yours...

Why doesn't this guy give up on busting his head wide open for no apparant reason? I don't think he's too much at risk: he'll take a few bumps, but it's clearly Tyrus who's there to eat the pin in most matches, so that EC3 comes out alright. He still gets a lot of promo time, too, so he's clearly one of the stars of the show. If he gets back in the ring and starts getting pinned by Anderson, or having his head shaved by anybody but Spud (after a buildup to a featured match on a big card, of course), then that'd be a legitimate problem. The guy is still undefeated and once he's done with Spud should have a nice, long feud with Bobby Roode or Lashley, so any funny business in the meantime would be really, really dumb. But yeah, I can't for the life of me think of who'd want to see Tommy Dreamer bleeding in the ring again. Tommy, really, enough's enough. Go relax.

Their best signing in years was EC3, a "WWE cast off". If pushed and given a chance to develop a character, a lot of guys have potential to contribute even if released by the WWE at some point. They just need new/fresh talent period. Roster is paper thin and have a lot of TV miles on them. Fresh faces would be nice. For me EC3 is very hit and miss. There was a period in late 2014 where I liked nothing he did unless it was with Spud. He seems to be picking up pace again but I wouldn't say he was their best signing in years. I'd put Spud above him and probably Lashley as well. I don't disagree with you though. If they want to take guys who had a cup of coffee in the WWE or were in NXT that's fine but they seem to chase guys like McIntyre, MVP, Tyrus etc simply because they were in WWE and they throw huge money at them before the talent quickly gets lost in the shuffle. It's happened to Tyrus and now he's just an overpaid bodyguard for EC3 when there are 50 guys on the indies who could have done it for considerably less. Good point about Lashley. That just adds to the overall point. Lashley left the WWE many years ago, to the point where he's probably long forgotten. TNA gets him (back), starts pushing him to his strengths, and he suddenly becomes one of the major stars of the show. Same with EC3. I actually think WWE/NXT "cast offs" are better than indy talent because look at how ready EC3 looked when he arrived. He looks like a star, presents himself like one, and I think having that time in WWE developmental probably helped him. Now, I don't think Tyrus has much upside as a talent (he is what he is), but guys like Galloway are similar to EC3. He can reinvent himself if given the chance. I'm not too familiar with Bram, other than he was also in developmental for the WWE, but he might have some potential as well. I think TNA should go that route. They won't develop the next Punk or Bryan, but more EC3's wouldn't be a bad thing.

I'm LOL'ing so hard at Chavo being able to score rats. I mean it's f***ing Chavo who cares about him!? You'd be shocked. Groupies in general tend to bang anyone who has any kind of fame or is on television in any capacity. The guys that get eliminated on the first week of Big Brother and then go off and do appearances would likely be getting groupies.

My hope is that Drew will say no to an extended deal. I'd rather not see him at all than see him in the Pit Of Danger that is TNA.
