...at Wrestlemania.
I didn't like Sting in WCW because I was a WWF mark and it was 'us and them'.
I didn't like Sting in TNA because I saw him as an unmotivated legend making money on his name.
I like Sting in WWE because it's something new & and he's being used well, however I don't like the idea of hhh Laying down for him at Wrestlemania, yeah he may be an arrogant, overpushed douchebag but he's OUR arrogant overpushed douchebag.
The problem is I don't see the point of bringing Sting in just to lose at mania so I'm stuck between a rock & a hard place.

The problem I'd have with Triple H winning isn't so much that I'd have to see Sting lose, but that it'd mean that I'd have to sit through The Authority being in power for a while longer.

One of HHH's biggest criticisms is that he puts himself over at every opportunity. The added bonus of beating Sting would, again, be "LOLWCW/TNA". However, even HHH might realize that is getting old. Also, his record at WM is the worst among HOFers. Even he recognizes what's "best for business".
This is a crucial time to capitalize (finally) on Sting. While he's not half of the wrestler he once was, there is still a huge buzz about him. If they offer Sting a Legends Contract, make him, say, the GM of RAW, and bring him in the ring in spurts, that will be license to print money. Both Vince and Sting have raved about how professional each other are.
Adding Sting to the roster is good catharsis for everyone. It introduces a while new audience to Sting. Most importantly, it gets more eyes on The Network.

Honestly I doubt Sting would have signed just to loss his first match against HHH. While yes HHH is a "WWE" guy and Sting is "WCW". There had too been more then just money for why Sting finally after all these years of WWE wanting to sign Sting and he refused to say now I will. Sting can't loss because it would damage his reputation. If you went into the WWE and was this major star in the height of wrestling hottest period in the other company. First match boom loss isn't going too make Sting look like this Iconic figure he been poster as and Sting is to smart for that to happen.
Sting wasn't always the unmotivated legend in TNA, for most of his run he was very good for someone his age. The last couple years maybe but when the company itself isn't drawing fans and comes off as a joke to fans. Hard to want to keep pushing it.

Sting will spend two years on the active roster and probably wrestle under 5 matches. I have no doubt he will beat Triple H and go .500 against the Undertaker, ending with a loss.

Trips should win in 18 seconds, that would be a hell of a Wrestlemania moment.

The battle of the guys that work with the guys that make the money... Ouch. That's a pretty harsh criticism of Sting...

Trips should win in 18 seconds, that would be a hell of a Wrestlemania moment. WrestleMania 35. Bryan vs. Sting. Guest Ref: Sheamus Sting wins. 17 seconds, but restarted due to a fast count. 17.5 seconds in the rematch. Sting still wins. Daniel Bryan released the next day.

I wonder if Sting signed knowing the plan was a match with Triple H or whether he expected Taker?

It doesn't really matter - the Authority will still dominate Raw regardless of what happens at Mania, and Sting will probably not be on from week to week so nothing changes.

I want Sting to win. I followed both WWE and WCW and enjoyed both. Sting has long in my eyes been bigger than HHH even if HHH peaked later. I didn't really see any of his TNA stuff but Sting was crazy over in the 90s and totally made money for WCW. HHH winning wouldn't be right in a lot of ways.

Since he's been showing up a bit lately and was being rumoured for stuff, a match I'd love to see is Sting vs Rock. Here you have the actual ultimate WWE vs WCW match- Rock was never in WCW, Sting has never before been in WWE, and, while I actually don't mind HHH, Rock is indisputably the bigger name.
The match might not be great but if both guys showed up in shape and motivated, it could be good enough that the spectacle would do the rest. Only question is would you really make Rock, the WWE guy, heel? Could always book it that Vince comes out and declares he's picked his own guy to face Sting, introducing Rock. Rock wants the match for his own ego/legacy but has nothing personal against Sting, resents being used for Vince/The Authority's dirty work, on the go-home show Rock turns on the Authority, we get face vs face with them both beating HHH down post-match.
Fantasy booking at it's most fantastical but I'd love to see that.

I wonder if Sting signed knowing the plan was a match with Triple H or whether he expected Taker? I can't imagine he signed for a match with Taker given how lacklustre his Mania match was and how Sting had such issues with the way he believed the WWE would treat him, I doubt he would have signed up to be beaten cleanly by Taker after a plodding, awkward match that would ultimately mean nothing. With Triple H, his presence is tied into a major storyline and win or lose, the match will be good because Hunter is in the 'desperate to enhance his legacy as a performer' stage of his career.
