This didn't even feel like a reboot to me, it felt like an entirely separate film-and and an unnecessary one at that.

This didn't even feel like a reboot to me, it felt like an entirely separate film-and and an unnecessary one at that. Well, with the name.....they do consider it a reboot so as well as the film, I do get to judge it as a reboot. I get that. This is just my take. To call a film a reboot, it should technically have at least a cursory connection to the original-in the case of the ever cheesy Leprechaun franchise, perhaps the titular monster is out to reclaim his pot of gold like in all the other movies. And with the word "Origins" in the title, one would have assumed it would mean explaining how the Leprechaun came to be. But there were zilch connections to the original franchise. So I therefore say this feels more like an entirely separate film that someone simply decided to attach the Leprechaun title to in the hopes of getting a few more downloads or blu ray buys from fans of the series. Edit* and just as an aside, concerning the latter films from that atrocious franchise-I have long had this fantasy of Warwick Davis putting in a guest shot on Law and Order SVU. He gets busted for drugs, and when he see's detective Tutuola he says "You again!" Another detective asks if they know each other, and Tutuola/Ice T replies "I don't like to talk about it."

Watched it and it was just awful awful awful awful awful.
I'm not a fan of the original Leprechaun ffilm but at least the people behind those films were smart enough to realize that the concept of a killer Leprechaun was flat out ridiculous so they made them as horror comedies. Yet on the other hand WWE decided to play it straight and made it darker and edger which was just dumb and LOL at trying to make Hornswoggle look scary.
Though still trying to figure out if this still worse than the Leprechaun in the hood films.

See....I would say the original Leprechaun in the Hood was better, but Leprechaun: Back to Da Hood....this film was better than.

If there's a reason why a lot of WWE's original films are considered garbage and will never be given the time of day by actual movie critics, this is it. This was a poorly conceived idea, and the Leprechaun itself wasn't scary when I saw the stills. This was just a terrible movie and pretty much affirms the stereotype that WWE movies are little more than vanity projects for Vince McMahon because he still can't shake the stigma of being little more than a wrestling promoter.

Well, surprisingly I did like See No Evil 2, which had actual horror directors and actors in it. Oh and they do call him Jacob Goodnight in that film.
