He didn't lose the title in a match.
He lost it because he was medically unable to defend his title in a scheduled match. So if there was a rematch clause, it would have been in the contract for that match ... and he didn't fulfill his end of the contract so the clause wouldn't be enforceable.
And who is he supposed to "rematch" with? Kane?

You're being picky over a detail really. Being medically unable to defend your title is not being beaten over it. So yeah, 'rematch' is the wrong word, but it's not like he doesn't deserve a shot.

They really should have done a double elimination spot at the Rumble to get out of the smark town relatively unscathed, and then have the two go at it with Roman going over in a non-smark town.
Either that OR have Bryan vs. Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Brock is a heel, so him getting boos would not have mattered.
This makes Bryan look an insufferable dick, and even if he does win at Mania, he's going to look like a paper champion, who never deserved to be there, anyway.
And yeah, que the "You wanted Bryan in the main event, now you got it, you're never happy!" people, who don't see beyond black and white, and don't recognize nuances.
And besides, the Royal Rumble secures the winner a title shot in the main event of WrestleMania. It's not just a title shot. Bryan may have a claim for a title shot, but he has no claim to battle for a WrestleMania main event. Roman won that right.
