This. Honestly, his offence is pretty much hitting a few punches, winding up/taking too long to hit something else, then getting clobbered and having Big Cass come in and save him.

He's in DEVELOPMENT for a reason. NXT is not it's own brand despite it's quality. People are there to learn.

Problem is they aren't letting him develop. They seem content with keeping him green for the sake of pushing his character as an useless lump for the lulz.
