I think it's fine.
There's still a huge disconnect between what happens in NXT and what happens on Raw or Smackdown.
It's almost non-canon, like an alternate universe comic. If they want to put something over, they do, but I don't feel like they have to and that every call up kinda has a blank slate if they want them to.
Are they going out of their way to make Bull look like a bitch? It certainly seems that way, but he's still young in his career and I really don't think was "on the bubble" anyways. A single one sided feud with Corbin will mean diddly in the end.

This was my comment after he made his NXT debut: He looks like he could have been a recurring jobber on WCW Saturday Night in 1995. Holy shit! I thought the EXACT same thing!

The difference between Taz and Bull(aside from the huge talent gap) was that Taz was booked like prime Mike Tyson just wrecking guys. Bull is booked like Peter McNeely, he might look the part but he's not a threat to anyone.

I think people are missing the point.
If the purpose of good booking is to get the most out of everyone, it's explicitly stupid to make a guy look like a schmuck. And it's super creepy how the main justification people seem to have for it is, "He's pudgy."

So, if he sucks as badly as you say, then why keep him around? Especially now with Owens and Rhyno?

Bull is okay, he's obviously still very green. Corbin gets a lot of hype and he's worse than Bull and doesn't have a much better look.

Unfortunately, people want wrestlers that they don't like booked like schmucks, so they'll be gone sooner to make room for someone that they DO like who hasn't been signed yet. It's the whole "X is stealing someone more talented's roster spot!" crap again.

Do you think they were getting the most out of Dempsey by hyping him as a killer the way they started with him, especially when Kevin Owens is around? I admit a part of my dislike for Dempsey is that he's not pleasant to look at, but aesthetics are important, if Dempsey wants to be booked as an unstoppable fighting machine but he looks like Kevin Smith in a singlet, it shouldn't be a shock that it's not working. It could be that the reason for his current booking is to take his character in a more suitable direction for his talents. There was something endearing about when he was talking shit to Corbin and Corbin just pie faced him and walked away without a problem. They can still work with the fact that he has a chip on his shoulder as it is becoming evident that he's not the animal that he thought he was. It's not to say that the Bull Dempsey character is a "loser", more that he got too big for his britches killing jobbers and now has to get more serious if he wants to play with the big boys. And wear pants.

The main reason I can't take him seriously as a badass is because I saw the pictures of him wrestling as a giant baby on the indies

I've grown into calling him Bull Dumpster
Which would make for a better gimmick anyway in my opinion

And wear pants. I don't think they were hyping him as a killer before the Corbin feud, which everyone and their mother knew would end with him getting squashed (which is half the problem). They were hyping him as a super-tough brawler. If anything about his booking was getting in the way of that, it was the fact that his finisher was a top-rope move, which doesn't fit at all. He should use the stump puller, or something. And actually, for his look, I'm legit confused by people's responses to it. He just looks like a strong person. That's what strong people are built like. I can't really understand what the problem is.

Good booking is not necessarily to make everyone look "good" but to tell stories people can pick up easily. Sometimes someone has to play smuck to make the story work
