Is he not at the point in his career where it makes more sense for it to be Sami Zayn over El Generico? In fact, neither Neville nor Owens have their pages listed under their current names, although Owens is relatively newer so that's understandable. But still, seems odd that Sami Zayn isn't listed under Sami Zayn at this point

This is Wikipedia's fault mistaking El Generico and Sami Zayn as the same person when they CLEARLY look nothing alike... get it together Wikipedia, you're better than this!

I know he's close friends with El Generico, but Sami really needs his own page on Wikipedia.

Maybe Sami Zayn is going to become El Generico II. You know, like Tiger Mask or something.

I'm still opposed for the time being. Antonio Cesaro was US Champ before we moved him from Claudio Castagnoli. Generico had a prolific indies run as well as a run in Japan. If he's released from WWE tomorrow (it would be WP:CRYSTAL to assume he will have a long run in WWE) Generico will remain his WP:COMMONNAME. Zayn will likely become his common name at some point but I don't think we're there yet.LM2000 (talk) 00:27, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
Cameos on Main Event aren't equivalent to officially joining the main roster on Raw or SmackDown. From what I've viewed, Zayn is still marketed as an NXT wrestler on Main Event. Also, you brought up his match with his career on the line? What if he loses? Oh God.
Here's what the reasoning for keeping him as El Generico on wikipedia is.

This isn't WWE mis-identifying one of its Superstars; it's Wikipedia. It's up to any random member of the public with a Wiki account to change it up. The only reason it says El Generico is because no one's gotten around to correct it.

Shit, it took ages for Ryder and Hawkins to get separate wiki pages.

Shit, it took ages for Ryder and Hawkins to get separate wiki pages. I think I remember hearing Matt Striker acknowledge that on TV once, too.
